They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. Jeremiah 6.14

The days that the prophet Jeremiah lived in were very difficult, for the material prosperity that took over the people of God, made those people stop serving the Lord and only care about their own interests. The prophet announced that the Babylonian captivity was close to happen, but no one would listen to him. Because of his warnings, he was put in the dungeon, considered a person who spoils pleasure and an outdated prophet.

Now-a-days, we have seen similar things happen. People from families of great servants of God no longer care about healthy messages, don’t devote their lives to God and actually live as if the flesh’s pleasure is their lives’ target. There will be days when these people will grieve, for they not only despised the Almighty that could save them, but also gave themselves to the tempter, who took them far away from Jesus.

Back in those days, everyone would hand themselves over to greed, and what really interested them was to achieve material prosperity. Even the prophets and the priests would only think about what they could gather. Now-a-days, that same spirit of greed is taking over the people and consequently the Kingdom of God has been left behind for when there is some time left; and worldliness and other infernal deeds become lord of those who should be filled with the Holy Spirit and full of divine talents and gifts.

However, what did the time of wealth add up to their lives, because in a short period of time, Judah and its citizens found themselves slaves in Babylon. Why gather great treasures – and be able to buy whatever comes into mind, travel wherever you want to, whenever you want to, and stay in the best hotels – if the future is uncertain? The account settling day might arrive way before the insane believer expects, so then, what will be his destiny?

There is nothing better than being in peace with the Lord, be led by the Holy Spirit and that way, be able to enjoy a peaceful and serene life. There is no way we can change a true happiness by a false promise, which is no good now and neither will be of any good in eternity. Therefore, if you do not have devoted your life to the Lord, get right with Him. It’s not worth playing around at the tip of a volcano, because the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6.23a).

Do not accept that your wound be healed superficially. Until you feel the divine presence, do not give rest to your soul. Only those who are clothed with the wedding garment will have guaranteed presence at Jesus’ feast (Mt 22:1-14). The eternity with the Savior is compared to a never ending party. Why take the path of perdition if you will be happy with Jesus? Decide right now to change your way of living walking by faith with Jesus.
