Have respect to the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty.  Psalm 74.20

 

The Lord’s New Covenant with humanity, through the blood of Jesus, covers all our needs. During the history of mankind, God made several covenants to recover us from the fall, but they were not complete or perfect. Salvation was reached with the death of Jesus, and then, the best and most perfect Covenant came to make us walk like children of God an enjoy everything that was conquered for us.

Wherever the Word of God is not respected, the holiest of the saved people can be contaminated and fall in transgression. If they are not firm in the faith they will be led by the enemy’s deceptions. The psalmist prayed asking for the Lord to have respect to the covenant, which guarantees us forgiveness and deliverance from the empire of darkness. It is based on superior promises and helps us to come back to a relationship with the Father. 

When the writer wrote asking for the Most High to have respect to the New Covenant, the Holy Spirit was using him so that those who fall would not be condemned forever. Today, if we only confess our sins and believe in His forgiveness, we will be accepted as if we had never done wrong, except for those who abuse of God’s grace and sin with their consciences, tempting Him.

The New Covenant secures forgiveness for all people, as long as they recognize their sin and confess themselves to the Most High. However, if they act in an uninterested way, careless about their way of living and considering that God’s grace exempts them from living a holy life, they will be much deceived. A false confession does not bring the joy of forgiveness, and whoever does so will continue under condemnation. Jesus told the lame man that was healed to go and sin no more.

What has led many to sin is the propaganda of sinful things in the media, as well as in the manner that people talk, dress, and even negotiate. Many who promote ways of transgression are guilty for what they do. Undoubtedly, they will be responsible for those who fell and were lost forever. It is good to see what is your life like, and if it is the case, amend things with God. He is righteous and faithful!

In the New Covenant, there is provision for all our mistakes. We only need to decide not to be used by the enemy any longer. The prayers of the sincere will be accepted, but those who do not respect the Lord will never attain forgiveness. Then, when they fall in the flames of hell and seek for repentance or relief, as did the rich man in the parable, they will not find it.

Seek for your forgiveness directly with God. Be honest and describe how did you fall, why did you do it, what do you want Him to do, and make things right once and for all. Do not leave for later to come back to a relationship with He who can make the body and soul suffer in the lake of fire and sulfur for all eternity.
