Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth. Psalm 71.4,5

If, by any reason, you have fallen in the hands of the wicked, who is unrighteous and cruel, you have a chance of deliverance in the Lord. There is no situation that he cannot solve or find a solution. God is a Specialist in solving problems; he solves even those considered as impossible. For the Omnipotent, there will never be impossible causes. In fact, it is the lack of faith that stops us from seeing Him operating in our favor.

The author of this prayer was guided by the Holy Spirit. He recognized that only the Lord could free us from the hands of those who call themselves godly, but do not serve Him truly. Unfortunately, there are people that let themselves be dominated by greed, lust, and other works of the flesh. Such individuals cause us great harm, not only making us suffer from the evil they commit, but also impeding us to accomplish what He ordered us.

Your enemy can be wicked, like the judge that did not fear God nor respected any man (Lk 18.1-8). However, just like the Lord gave that widow the wisdom and simplicity so that the judge would get her justice, He will also capacitate you. Sin is what makes unrighteous and cruel people exist. Those who find themselves enslaved by sin do not think twice before obeying the devil’s orders, for they are his servants.

If this has happened to you, firm yourself in the divine Word. Do not feed yourself with grief and do not let anger enter your heart (Hb 12.15). Strive to prevent hatred or any other evil feeling to dominate you. Every evil that comes upon you is to divert you from the divine plan. Any evil that may be done to you will not be as harmful as not fulfilling the Lord’s will.

Defeat pessimism, for the Omnipotent is with you to give you victory. He is at your side in the same proportion as you act according to the revelation of the Word. The Most High never fails, nor forgets those who love Him. The unrighteous and cruel person is capable of keeping in his heart something you said without speaking, but God is the righteous Judge, who takes in consideration how you were deceived to the point of stumbling with your words. He is merciful (Ps 100.5).

Every time that you have acted according to what He told you was counted as an act of justice, which remained before God as unforgettable memorials. Therefore, be strong and brave. Enter into the presence of the righteous Judge and open your heart, invoking Him with all of your strength. Use the Name of Jesus to speak to the Father and also rebuke whatever is making you suffer.

If you make use of your privileges in the Lord, you will always be victorious! He has not declared Himself as “our hope” by accident. Therefore, assume the Word of God and see Him guiding your steps.
