13/07/2015 - HE WOULD NEVER LACK ANYTHING

Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” Mark 10.21

The rich young man received everything that a human can receive from the Lord: His love. However, when we see the facts, we notice that he did not make use of it and change his life entirely. The young man did not understand that if he observed the words of the Master and fulfilled His order, he would never lack anything (Luke 22.35). There are many individuals making bad decisions because they are fascinated by the enemies’ lies, being deceived by the lies of riches.

As David prayed in Psalm 139.23, we should also ask the perfect God to fathom us and learn our hearts. Certainly, if He does so, He will find many things that should not be in us, and therefore, He could deliver us from all of them. Like the psalmist, we would have to cry out to the Lord so that He would test our hearts. This is the time to receive from God what is necessary for us to be victorious in the difficult moments of our walk.

We would not have problems if we obeyed the Holy Scriptures; however, since we were never taught to seek the answer for our struggles in the Holy Book and in prayer, we have been haughty even in difficult situations. As a result, our lives have been constant struggles and shortcuts in the direction of wrong and strange attitudes. If we do not convert our hearts, we will perish with the wicked (Luke 13.2,3).

It is much better to make the Lord Jesus our Pastor, because then, we will lack nothing (Ps 23.1). Now, if you lack in any area of your life, He has not been His Pastor. Moreover, it is certainly not His fault. When a man bows before the orientations of the Holy Book, the wrong attitudes are undone, and the questions are solved. God’s aim for every one of His children is that they may be victorious in all things.

That rich young man was zealous in fulfilling the commandments, except the one that went against his desires. This has been many people’s evil. While the Father’s will does not interfere with their will, they are obedient and dedicated to Him. However, when their desires stumble upon the divine commandments, they turn their backs to He whom they should never despise, because without Him there is only trouble in the spirit.

The young man lost his reward from the Lord, which is superior to any possession left in the world (Heb 11.26). He did not understand that great riches await for us in eternity, which are infinitely greater than what the richest man on earth has. The suffering besides Jesus must be preferred rather than the offerings of the treasures of men.

Christ’s teachings are perfect, completely different from human teaching. That young man learned from the lips of the Master that he could only follow Him if he renounced his goods. In the same way, if you are today not willing to attend to the orders of the Almighty, you will never be able to follow Him. God is interested in your eternal happiness.

In Christ, with love,

Master of masters! We have been foolish like the rich young man, who sought You with the desire of not losing himself for eternity. However, he did not understand that his riches would drive him away from eternal life. What was the use of keeping the possession of his many properties?

For those who trust in riches, and not in You, it is difficult to give up what has been the reason for their existence. Therefore, since they do not listen to you, there are people walking towards their condemnation.

May no one be misled by the false security of money, of the things that are corrupted with time, that are taken by thieves and have no eternal value. May all the lost get closer to You and may all who are Yours never leave You.
