I am weary with my groaning; all night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears. My eye wastes away because of grief; it grows old because of all my enemies. Psalm 6:6,7

In a certain moment of his life, David was going through a time when he was tired of crying out, and he though his prayers weren’t heard. He’d cry until his bed was soaked with tears. The psalmist had let disgust enter his heart, and because of that, his vision was consumed. A man’s perceptions become old when he is taken by his enemies’ strategies and insinuations. Those who are led by the Holy Spirit, however, shall reach the promise.

We will be heard just by putting what’s in the Word into action. That’s why it’s useless to moan your prayers, and to complain to the Lord about your problems so that He’ll listen to you. Prayer must always produce results: if that isn’t happening, it’s because something is keeping the Lord from operating. It could be sin or lack of knowledge of your rights in Christ, but when things are done according to the Word, the answer comes.

What makes Christians suffer the most is when they can’t put an end to the enemy’s works. If you can’t obtain help from heaven, change the way you cry out to Him. David said he tried to make his bed swim, but that was completely useless. Even if you do your best to receive freedom, you will only be truly free when you obtain understanding. But when you lead your soul to swim in the presence of God, your freedom will reach you a lot faster.

Our tears should water our faith when we use faith to destroy the malign actions. The work must be done with such certainty that your faith will be irrigated by the tears you shed to obtain what you need. However, on the verse we just read, David reveals to us that the work wasn’t being done; because of that, his vision was being consumed by his regret. We should never feel regret.

It doesn’t matter how many enemies are rising up against you. The Lord promised to be with you all the time. There is no reason to fear or to stop fighting by faith! Jesus already conquered our freedom on the cross. Now we should take possession of what is already ours, according to the Word. Those who march ahead shall never regret their decision.

The secret is to be led by the Spirit of God. This direction comes through the Word of God. Those who proceed this way shall see that their victory is guaranteed!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
