And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90.17

This is one of the first requests we must make to our God, for if we have His grace upon us, we will lack nothing. With it, we will have the wisdom given to Solomon, the power to fight given to David, the revelations given to Isaiah and the Angel sent by the Lord to free Judah from the threat of Sennacherib (2 Kg 19.35). After all, with the divine grace upon us, we will be capacitated to fulfill His will.

Like Noah found favor before God and was warned about the destruction that would come, if we have this same approval, we will also be spared from loss and suffering. It is God’s action in our favor, and through Him, just like it happened with David, we can enter in the middle of a battle and destroy it without any evil harming us. It was grace that had the three angels sent to destroy Sodom to answer Abraham’s request (Gn 18).

The Lord gave us two hands, which represent the natural and spiritual abilities. If we are in Christ, we can do everything that he did while He was here. With the divine grace, our hands become functional and productive. Therefore, we cannot live in sin only because we are under grace (Rm 6.15). However, if we sin, the Lord will forgive us, if we confess to Him our offenses and repent from them (1 Jo 1.9; 2.1).

The works of our hands must be confirmed by our God. On the contrary, they will not remain, and therefore, our work will have been in vain. Now, Jesus said that if our fruit remains, we will be answered in everything that we do (Jo 15.7). We have been chosen by the Master to follow His orders and produce the same fruits as He did. Our responsibility is great.

This is so important that the psalmist even repeated his request. Joseph of Egypt told Pharaoh that the fact that his dreams were repeated was because God decided so, since He was in a hurry to do such things. In the same way, the psalmist asked that the works of his hands would be established by the Most High. We must do the same, asking and believing, for if the work of God were a waste of time, he would have not called and approved us.

If it is something determined by the Lord, and if He is in a hurry, why not put all our faith in doing what He orders us? Be certain that everything that God brings for You to accomplish will happen, for who ordered so was the Almighty. He will go ahead of you in order to fulfill His purpose. We are simply the vessels that the Most High chose to use. Our capacity comes from Him.

It pleased to the Lord to constitute us, in our generation, as the executors of His will. We are privileged, and great is the power that He has given us. Why should we let fear be installed in our hearts, if the power that the Father gave us is the same that operated according to the orders of His Son? Whoever believes will always be successful.

In Christ, with love,

Eternal God! May Your grace be abundantly poured on all who were called to belong to the Body of Christ. We cannot live without it and we also do not want to live without Your operation. Help us to obey Your will.

Father! We need two things: the capacity to fulfill Your plans and the confirmation of the things we do according to Your will. We cannot work in vain or let the enemy deceive us. Give Your favor to every one of my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ.

May my readers never lose the opportunity to be used by You. The privilege of doing Your will like those who served You in previous generations is enormous! Therefore, we ask you to help us do only what pleases You.
