Rebekah’s example should always be kept alive in us, because not only does God never change, but he also draws closer to those who delight in His presence and act in accordance with His standards. This happens when we remember His ways without straying from them, carrying out God’s works successfully. If we sin, however, the Lord will be displeased at us. But, since there is eternal life in His ways, and as long as we are in them, we are saved if we follow His commands.

Calling ourselves “saved” is not enough; we need to be doers of the Word of God, not only listeners, so that we are not fooled by deceitful words. When we understand God’s message and our hearts are filled with joy, we are visited by Jesus and then, this joy arising from his Spirit dwelling in us lead us to the practice of His justice. As a result, God is walking in the field to meet us and fulfill all our needs.

It is necessary that we have and keep God’s commands, because his holy precepts will keep us from straying from his light. When we act against God’s will, we are walking in darkness and will trip on many things. On the other hand, if we remain steadfast in everything that we learn from the Word of God, we will walk side by side with the Father. Then all that we do will glorify Him, since by being obedient we fulfill His exclusive purpose.

God promised never to leave or forsake us, so that we may understand and carry out the missions with which He has entrusted us. It is easy to do that, for, by having him as Master and Lord, we will be walking in his light. Then, regardless of how much hardship we face, we will not trip and fall. As a matter of fact, Christians lose a battle only when they give ear to the enemy. His Word never changes, even if an angel says something else.

It would be good if you never sinned, because sin, whatever it may be, separates you from God and brings you closer to the evil one. To commit sin is something so serious that God becomes angry at us for giving into the devil’s temptation and despising His instructions. If you commit a transgression, be quick to confess your sin and ask the Lord for forgiveness, so that nothing bad will happen to you. The best moment to do that is the moment after you fall. Stand firm in the promises of the Almighty!

Now let me say something about sin and forgiveness. If you fall, be honest and confess what you have done. If you have damaged a person’s honor or possessions, make things right. After amending yourself with God and with the person, rest assured that you have been forgiven. In the ways of the Father there is eternal life and, when you do what He says, you are placing yourself in a position where sin will no longer reach you.

He who walks in God’s ways walks side by side with Him. Therefore, whenever you feel an attack from the enemy, speak to the Almighty as you would speak to your father and friend. God is more than that, for, being our Creator, Father and Almighty God, he can especially forgive us and restore us completely. The Lord loves you!
