And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons’ after him, to be anointed in them and to be consecrated in them.

Exodus 29.29

We know that the facts presented in the Old Testament typify what happens today and serve as teachings from the Lord to his Church. That is why it is important that we pay attention to what happened, so that we do not miss valuable lessons that will help us serve the Lord today. He who despises these lessons will be walking in the darkness and will not be able to fully carry out his ministry.

This passage tells us that the servants of God must keep their garments holy. But do not associate this revelation with those who are part of this particular service, because Jesus did not give this gift only to the ministry of the Church, but to all those who are saved. The Lord has raised apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to take care of and edify the body of Christ (Ephesians 4.11).

The anointing that the Lord has given us, as well as our fear of him, must not go to waste nor be abandoned in any corner, but transmitted to our spiritual children. Like Jesus said, our heritage is not natural: My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it (Luke 8.21). It is not enough to be a member of a church in order to qualiFy, but we must practice the Word in its fullness.

The Lord’s servants also endure temptations, but they must never give in or accept them. We will be tempted, as even Jesus was tempted but did not sin. On the mount of transfiguration, Jesus’ garments were revealed and the garments of those who carry out the work of God must be like his: Moses represented the Law and Elijah the prophetic message (Matthew 17.1-3).

The act of passing on anointing and holiness to the sons of Aaron shows that God wants our children in Christ to be anointed and consecrated with the same blessing that has been given to us. One day we will pass away, but, while we are still in this world, we must make sure our garments remain white, holy and powerful.

The Father is already preparing people so that the new generation may testify of him. As it has happened at all times, the divine fire will continue to burn in the lives of millions of people. And while the end does not come, the Church must continue to do what the Lord started and commanded us to do (John 14.12).

In Christ, with love,
