Those who fear You will be glad when they see me, because I have hoped in Your word.

Psalm 119.74

My success has to be good not only for me, but also for all those who fear the Lord. In fact, they should delight in everything I do by faith in Christ; and when they see God acting in my life, others will be encouraged to seek their own success too. This is how (and perhaps one of the most effective ways) we must preach to other people, but if I cannot achieve success, many people may think that victory is not always present in the lives of Christians.

God rejoices when he sees his children acting in accordance with his precepts, because this shows that they trust in him. There is no reason for anyone to think that faithful servants of the Lord will not always have victory, because the Scriptures clearly say that the Lord “always leads us in triumph in Christ” (2Corinthians 2.14a). If we honor him, he will honor us too; but if we make of him a liar, surely, we will displease him.

The word “Christian” means “follower of Christ”. So, how can anyone who claims to be a follower of Christ accept any other condition but victory? Defeat should never be accepted by he who is a member of the Body of Christ. If Jesus is the Head and he is holy, powerful and victorious, so should be the rest of the Body. The secret is to fight using the power granted by God to those who serve him wholeheartedly.

What makes a person different is his attitude in face of temptation. The wicked one lies, but the righteous one stands firm on what the Lord’s promises, because, to him, God is true in all his statements. The righteous one is known in the midst of trials, because Satan will tempt him in all possible ways, but the righteous one will never negotiate with the devil and will never stray from what the Bible says.

Only he who fights against the devil with the Holy Word will come out victorious. God’s Word is an undefeatable weapon; any other weapons, as beautiful and efficient as they may seem, will not help a child of God overcome the forces of darkness. Those who do not put on the armor of God will be hurt by the arrows of the devil, and will be defeated (Ephesians 6.13-17). Therefore, never ignore what the Lord has given you!

The faith of the Lord’s servants becomes stronger after each battle, as long as they fight with that which the Lord has given them through the Scriptures. Those who use the weapons of God find that there is so much more in them than one could ever imagine. Fight with the armor of God and you will never be defeated; after all, the Lord of Hosts knows how to equip you for victory (Psalm 144.1).

If you hope in the Word of God, you will discover the secret used by our brethren in the biblical times. After you hear God’s Word, go into battle. When the Lord gives you a revelation, he has already prepared your victory.
I pray that all those who fear the Lord will rejoice in their victory!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
