And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation.  Romans 15.20

Jesus’ order for all those who are saved is: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16.15). Regarding this, Paul understood that he should not build on someone else’s foundation. However, as we have seen in our days, it seems that the Apostle Paul’s decision does not make much sense for many Christians whose aim is to attract members of other ministries to themselves, desiring to be known as great evangelists. Well, man must have only what the Lord commands.

Putting carnality aside, we have another lesson given by Paul: it is necessary that we make our aim to preach the gospel. It is necessary that we consecrate ourselves through fasting and prayer, so that more people are removed from the kingdom of darkness and transported into the kingdom of God. Many times it is necessary to wage big battles in prayer, with ordaining, to truly free people. For that, it is essential that we follow strictly the Bible’s instructions.

Our mission number one is to name Christ in the midst of the darkness that surrounds those who are lost, who are many times members of our own families. When we make known the holy name of the Lord, we are making people understand the key that can help them get rid of any type of sin and suffering. It is necessary to learn and prove that you know the power that there is in the name of Jesus; this way, you will never reject God’s orders.

Without a doubt, those who announce the good news of the gospel are the most important people on earth, since they are the ones who know the solution for all problems. When a doctor says that there is no hope and that nothing can be done, and people are ready to “throw in the towel” and accept that there is nothing else to be done, evangelizers who are anointed and equipped with a simple message are able to make faith arise in these people’s hearts.

In addition to leading those who are lost to the only Way—the Lord Jesus—we are also used to edify the body of Christ. This is one of the most noble missions that God allows us to carry out, because it is no use to raise a person’s awareness of his need for salvation and then let her die spiritually. Those who promote the growth of the body of Christ are doing a blessed work.

There is no one else who can carry out God’s work other than those who have truly met Jesus and were called for such ministry. The devil will surely tempt—through money or a person who fulfills the carnal desires of a weak heart—the one who has been chosen to accomplish God’s holy mission. That’s why it is better to flee and not to fall into one of the groups that are excluded from salvation (1Corinthians 6.10). God cannot use a person who allows the evil one to use him.

Be faithful to the end (Revelation 2.10b), because Christ prepared the crown of life to give you. Do not exchange it for anything, nor allow yourself to be fooled by any works of Satan. Be always firm in accomplishing that which you know it is God’s will. The world is passing away, but he who does the will of God abides forever (1John 2.17).

In Christ, with love,

Beloved God, help us to always make it our aim to fulfill the calling that you have given us, since the world is and will forever be lost if it does not understand your wonderful plan. Those who fulfill the mission with which you entrusted them are surely fulfilled in you.

We must never stop doing your will, seeking you with all our hearts, taking the Word of salvation to those who are lost and healing to the sick. May your children have the grace of bringing solution to all afflictions that are destroying a great number of people.

Lord, send preachers to these places where there is great need for guidance, where people are walking towards perdition. We want to be used to bring hope to those who are spiritually dead, to show them the love you have poured into our lives. Amen.
