29/01/2015 - HOW THE LORD PROSPERS

Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Xerxes, preeminent among the Jews, and held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews, because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews. Esther 10:3

Nobody knew Mordecai when he became the third most important person in the huge Persian Empire. He would be unnoticed and would not do anything important but because of his faith everything changed. Our love to the Lord and His word is what make us different and prominent. The world will always hate those who accomplish the Lord’s will. When we are rejected by the world, it means that we are from God.

The Most High has a purpose in everything that happens to those who belong to Him. It doesn’t matter if today you have been abandoned, judged, humiliated. This has already happened and still happens with our brothers and sisters throughout the world. However, it is a signal to us that we belong to God and we disturb Satan. That is a lesson we should never reject. The Lord knows that we need to learn from Him very soon.

Mordecai showed he really was from the Lord, not forgetting his people. Even after receiving so great authority. It is common to see bad politicians hugging people during their campaign. But after they get elected they hide themselves from those who elected them. Nevertheless, those who are servants of the Mighty God know that they were elected to represent the people. Therefore they are always in contact with those who elected them.

The Word says that Mordecai was held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews. There is no other way. We must be pleasant to our brothers and sisters. We must be kind to everybody, particularly to the family of faith.  It doesn’t matter if we have been elected or not. In many cases, the brotherhood will receive us and will give us all assistance. The Bible says that whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:20).

The good man always looks for the best for people, it doesn’t matter his personal and familiar projects. That is why he is recognized as people’s friend. But we know happy and kind people that seem to be friendly but they don’t have good posture. They walk in corruption and are candidates only to get richer with people’s money. They don’t deserve your vote.

However Mordecai worked to prosper the nation. Good people should act like this. If the nation prospers, the citizens will prosper too and will share the riches. When there is no money, the streets are full of holes, the gutter is not clean, there are no policemen to keep us secure, and the hospitals don’t have good health professionals. In fact, we must do good things.

The Lord shows us that we should never go against His direction. Look what happens to Mordecai. The faithfulness of this Jew made Haman, a man with wicked plans against God’s people, pay the price for his wickedness.

In Christ, with love

God our justice! After all threats, Your hand came in favor of Your people. Your servant Mordecai became an important person. The enemies wanted to put him out of the world. But their plan failed because You don’t sleep and You are faithful to what You promised.

No doubt, this story can be repeated in our days. But You are the one to guide us. It’s impossible to understand how someone that was condemned to perish with his people became the third most important person of the huge Empire. You know how to promote those who do Your will.

We pray that Your people don’t take part with demons, robbers, corrupts that will bring shame to Your name, even after being elected, promoted and put in a position of victory. May our brothers and sisters be Your servants forever!
