21/08/2016 - HOW TO BE ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58

The abounding and Almighty God will not change His way of acting, even if some people insist on doing differently than what the Word declares. These people will go from bad to worse because they did the opposite of what He proposed. Those that move away from the light, inevitably, walk in darkness and, because of that, stumble on the obstacles set by the enemy. Now, those who follow Jesus always walk during the day and in the light. 

Those who learn the right way to serve God soon start to enjoy of His kindness and generosity. Up until then, they had no peace and couldn’t count on the operation of the divine power, but, because they heard Him, they began to take part of His Kingdom and be under the protection of the Most High.  Those who give themselves to Christ close the door to the evil.  

It is necessary to be firm and constant to be abundant in the work of the Lord. Without a doubt, the devil will use all of his capacity to take you away from the presence of God, including making you feel disheartened to fulfill the commandments and uninterested in continuing doing good. The devil is capable of using the people of God, in a moment of weakness, to take you away from God´s hands. 

To be firm is to not falter, although everything appears to say that God will never look at you nor do what you are asking for. Now, we are not dealing with human being, who, many times, changes their opinion. The Lord continues to want from man the same thing He wanted before creating him. When He called you, He already knew where and how He would use you, therefore, never let yourself be carried away by the liar thinking that you were not called by God. 

Now, the consistency in obeying the Most High is a key factor to lead people to the point where they will receive everything He has for them. Without a doubt, you were inserted in the great divine plan of redemption of humanity. Thus, fail to do what you were proposed is to err in every sense, for this will cause you a great loss to your eternal happiness. Therefore, don’t let yourself move away from what God has spoken to you.

To be abounding in the work of the Lord is a greater and more powerful testimony that you, me or any other person can give to our Lord God. Don’t accept a meager, miserable or empty life, for Christ affirmed He came to give us life in abundance (John 10:10b). Of course you don’t have to be a millionaire to be fulfilled in Christ. Like Paul, everyone should know how to live with much or a little, because what matters is to have a heart filled with grace. 

If you are following the directions of the Word than you will never work in vain. God is perfect in everything and because of that, wherever He puts you, you must be happy. Whatever is the mission He entrusted you with, fulfill it with satisfaction. Live for the joy and the praise of the Lord.
