12/06/2016 - HOW TO LOVE THE LORD

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  Matthew 22.37

The Lord used Paul to give a message about the importance of loving God (to keep His commandments). The Apostle said that if anyone gives his body to be burnt because of his faith, but does not do it because of love, it will all be worthless (1 Co 13.3). Doing the work without obeying the divine direction is unfruitful. Every orientation in regards to our lives must come from High.

It is useless to say repetitively that you love the Lord, but give your time, energy, and wisdom to other things that you may think that belong to the Father, but that He has not ordered you to do. Not doing what He ordered means not loving Him. In spiritual matters, the initiative always comes from God.

In Luke 7, verse 36, we see that a Pharisee invited Jesus to dine in his house. In that place, there was more than just dinner: a woman that people deemed as a sinner showed more obedience to God than Simon, the host (v. 44,45). She poured the feet of Christ with tears and cleaned them with her hair. Since she was much forgiven, she loved very much.

Those who belong to God do not think twice when they feel that the Lord gave them something to do. They immediately fulfill His will. Since they love Him, they fulfill His commandments. However, those who do not have fear in their hearts do not care about knowing if people are saved or not, if they know Jesus or worship the enemy. What kind of Christian have you been?

Jesus teaches that he who knows God’s will and does not do it will be punished with many rods (Lk 12.47). Undoubtedly, there are many people that do not understand why they live with so many problems. Even suffering so much, they cannot see that they are allowing the devil to torment them. Whoever keeps the divine commandments does not experience any evil.

When you fulfill the Most High’s order, do so with all of your heart, soul and understanding. On the contrary, you will do your own work, and not God’s work. Thus, your work will not be accepted, and you will have wasted your time. We must follow His direction whenever we fast, pray, and serve the Lord, so that we may fulfill what He ordered with all of our being.

The commandment that He has given is a blessing that you should never despise, for He will give you understanding and will sanctify you to fulfill it. We cannot limit our capacity, surrender, and strength while we serve the Lord. Everything that the Father has given us must go back to Him. Thus, we will receive even more.
