Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! Joshua 24.14

Joshua, the successor of Moses to lead the people of God into Canaan, remembered the deeds of the Lord for His people, and asked the Israelites whom they would choose to serve. If they chose the Most High, they would enjoy true peace. But if they chose to bow before the gods of the nations, they would know the pain of being rebellious to God’s commandments. 

There is nothing better than to respect the divine will, because God is the Creator of all things, and therefore, everything belongs to Him. Those who rebel against the Lord do not know the sin that they commit, for they give themselves to the devil in his work of destruction. Satan hates us profoundly, because we are the Father’s image and likeness, and because we have converted and will live with Him in Heaven.

You cannot serve God without seriousness. If you are in sin, you cannot do so, because He is Holy and we will only be in His presence if we also are holy. Whoever is a liar will not stand before Him. Submit to the Lord and do not accept misery, need, sickness, and other works of the enemy in your life and your family. After all, if we become victorious, this will be the greatest message that the lost will hear.

If you do not prosper, if you are always sick and with a bitter heart, you are probably not saved or you do not understand that Jesus paid a high price to set you free from the actions of the enemy. Therefore, do not allow the works of the kingdom of suffering to exist in your life. Now, evil will only attack you if you do not believe in Christ’s sacrifice in your favor. Know that God truly loves you!

See if you have hidden “gods” in your heart. For example, if you fear that something bad may happen to you tomorrow, you are allowing a demon to command your life. Now, where are the promises of the Lord that are for you and are you paying attention to them? Where are you keeping them? The evil spirits will lead you to the lake of eternal fire.

These “gods” were the reason why a whole generation of Israelites perished in the desert, walking unnecessarily for 40 years. Still today, they have led many children of God to submit to Satan, as well as to be tormented in moments of their lives. Break up once and for all with the father of lies and send him away from your life. The solution to your problems is to trust in the Lord.

There is nothing better than being truly free. Why should you serve the demon of sensuality, or of any other kind, and become exactly what it is? Jesus offers you life, an abundant life (Jo 10.10b). What is your decision?
