28/03/2015 - HOW YOUR DELIVERANCE WILL TAKE PLACE

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

Those who believe in Jesus receive special treatment from Him: they earn the right to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven. But praising God with one’s hand up to the sky is not enough if one keeps doing what is wrong. The Lord’s commandments forbid us from obeying the devil. If we keep His commandments, we will see that they help us in our sanctification and in our pursuit of God besides giving us the title of disciples of the Master.

Why did Jesus say that to those Jews who believed in Him? We know that the Lord makes no distinctions between those who are born into His family. What separates us is the faith we put in His words. By believing in Christ, we become members of His Body. As descendants of Abraham, the Jews couldn’t deem themselves better than the others. In order to be disciples, they would have to stick to the Word.

Those who are called by the Lord and begin their journey of faith but soon get discouraged or backslide will eventually stop being disciples. Only those who remain firm on His Word are saved by the Lord and overcome the attacks of the forces of evil. Our obedience to the words of Jesus sets us apart in God’s eyes and keeps us from evil forces. It doesn’t matter who your pastor is but whether he keeps the Word.

It seems easy to stay in the Word, but only when you don’t allow the enemy to dominate you or guide you. If you were used to doing whatever you wanted, dressing as you wished, buying, selling, traveling or doing anything as you saw fit, now as a servant of the Lord you must seek His will in everything and strive to fulfill it. Whoever doesn’t forsake their old ways cannot be a disciple of the Master (Luke 14:33).

One thing is to claim being a disciple of Jesus. Another is to actually have such a qualification, as we saw in the previous paragraph. The Lord is committed to those who do so. This means that He keeps, guides and leads them wherever He wants. These people don’t lack anything; they are bold in faith and taught by the Master of masters, Lord of lords and King of kings. One of the guidelines is to know the truth. Is there anything better?

It is in the knowledge of the truth that we are free from the temptations and other evil deeds. Nothing happens by chance. All we receive from God is the fruit of a life dedicated to keeping the commandments. Those who know the Truth are delivered, which means that there won’t be, in the lives of true disciples, any problem without solution, any disease without a cure. They will always be successful.

Unfortunately there are lots of misguided people in the churches. They think that because they go to God’s house they are qualified to know the truth. But that’s not what the Master said. Obey wholeheartedly what the Scriptures say about being a true disciple of the Lord Jesus.

In Christ with Love,

My God and my Master! How great it would be if You always taught us the principles of your Kingdom. We do not want to miss anything that we might receive from you. All we need is to be your disciples so that your Holy Spirit can minister to us.

The secret is to remain in Your Word for if we neglect it, the evil one will attack us with all his fury. But why would anyone despise the Word that saves, heals, prospers and gives them all the blessings and also protection?

If we ignore your gifts, we will be evil because we will be despising life. Thus, the death - the nature of Satan - will have us in its hands. Today, we have come to ask you to never let us make this foolish decision. We want to know the truth and be set free by it.
