02/07/2014 - IF YOU ARE FAITHFUL…

And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you.  Deuteronomy 7.13

It all starts when we begin to hear about the works the Lord has done for us or about the things he wants us to do. If we keep his commandments, he will keep the covenant and all promises he made to our fathers in faith. And then he will love us, have in his memory the promises he has made concerning us, and he will fulfill them. But if we fail to pay attention to what he says and ignore it, nothing will be done in our lives.

Because he loves us, he blesses us. Those who have found favor in God’s sight can go on without worrying about the circumstances, because his blessing will follow them everywhere. Therefore, those who serve the Lord God do not need to worry about alarmist reports, because for those who are saved, heaven will always be “made of candy”, a trouble-free place. After all, God’s champions are never scared by the devil’s lies.

The promise is that he will multiply us. Therefore, any reduction in our lives means that the will of God is not being done; we must be multiplied in every sense. There is no reason why those who are saved should allow pessimism to enter their minds by believing that, for some reason, they will not receive that which has been promised to them. They know that the Scriptures say that the gifts of God are irrevocable (Romans 11.29). Christians always keep on going.

Our children are blessed, because they are the fruit of our womb. Additionally, the fruit of our work also receives God’s blessing, since it also comes from us. His promise encompasses our whole being, so there is not—nor will there ever be—a single time when we will be forgotten. Everything that concerns us has God’s blessing, therefore it will always be valued. It is worth believing in the Lord and serving him with joy and gladness of heart (Deuteronomy 28.47).

The revelations that we obtain in the gospel are gifts, but God promises to further bless them. As a matter of fact, he will bless everything that has been given to us, including the revelation of the Word, the communion through Christ’s blood, the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the work of our helpers and those related to us—all that in the gospel that we embrace. All these things will be fulfilled because we believe in the good news.

Being aware of all the above, don’t you think that serving the Lord is worth it? Why should you ignore the fountain of living waters to hew yourself broken cisterns that can hold no water (Jeremiah 2.13)? In Jesus, we have more than enough to meet our needs. But we will only receive all these things if we truly believe in what the Lord says. Since your decision is so important, how about making one now?

In Christ, with love,

God of love, it is good to know that, because we take heed to your commands and keep them, you have promised to love us. This makes us love you even more, because serving you is something that we will never give up, as it is more than being blessed!

You guarantee that you will love and bless us, which would be more than enough. But, since you truly love us, you will also multiply and bless the fruit of our womb. And this is what we desire: that our children are blessed.

Thank you for the revelation of your will, for our daily bread, for the blood of Christ that delivers from the enemy, for the anointing of the Holy Spirit and for the fruit of those who work with us. Lord, we could not live far from the gospel!
