the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,  Ephesians 1.18

It is necessary to seek enlightenment to the eyes of our understanding, for, without it, we will never do according to the will of God. When we receive such light, we will be able to do the same things the apostles did. They learned with Christ the right way to execute the divine work and they were never defeated in the battles they fought. Even the demon they weren’t able to cast out Jesus did that for them. 

The Almighty had great hope when He called you to belong to His people, turning you into a member of the Body of Christ and, therefore, saved. The Lord did not and will not lose such purpose; however, if you don’t seek to understand His will, you might go through life without accomplishing what He gave you as a mission. Thus, you will still be accountable for the perdition of your relatives, friends and other people. 

There are many people who have been genuinely saved but walk without light, and because of that, they are always stumbling. These people not only suffer the hellish attacks, but they also are not able to enjoy what the Lord grants to those who take part in His Body. Thus, they never rise up to live the best of God. Now, the promise is: If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land… (Isaiah 1:19). 

To come to this world and not know the purpose of the Most High is the worst thing that can happen to a person. In such conditions, your potential will never be discovered and fully used. Many Christians live a life in which they are spiritually blind. They are good people and they strive to please God, but they don’t enjoy of the divine goodness. They suffer as if they were lost or ungodly. 

When the eyes of your understanding are enlightened, you get to know the riches of the glory of the Lord´s inheritance, which belongs to the saints. These are not just pretty words, but it is something that will make all the difference and will make you stand out from amongst the others. Such declarations of Paul were put in the Scriptures for us to know what we are given freely in Christ. Make of this as one of your goals in life, for the faith in Jesus has a lot to offer you. 

There is so much more for those who are born again than they can ever imagine. If the eyes of your understanding are not opened, you will miss a lot. It hurts to see so many people suffering, tripping and getting hurt because they don’t know the power of God that is given to all those who were led to His Kingdom. You can enjoy from this immeasurable wealth. 

It is expected from the children of God more than they think they have and do, for the infinite Lord has already given them all things that pertain to  life and godliness ( 2 Peter 1:3). Therefore, thank Him for these instructions and march firmly, in order to conquer the territory you were given. You are more than free in Christ, you are a true conqueror.
