Be my strong refuge, to which I may resort continually; you have given the commandment to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress. Psalm 71.3

David, the young shepherd that became king of Israel and never lost a battle, understood that he would be saved by the Lord’s commandment. As he wrote this Psalm, he showed us why he was kept safe by the Omnipotent and always won his battles. We should all seek a word from the Most High, which is a commandment for us. Then, through this word, we will be saved.

It is necessary to believe and assume that the Father is our strong refuge. Then, the enemy will not touch you with his lies, sufferings, and temptations. The word that is directed to you must be accepted as a commandment, an aim to be pursued and conquered. Certainly, those who live in the holy Refuge will never be disturbed by the forces of destruction. If they try to attack you, they will be defeated.

Whenever you feel tempted to sin, run towards your safe Refuge (Pv 18.10). The Most High is a Rock for us, where the enemy will never be able to penetrate. Find shelter in Him (2 Sm 22.2), and seek to strengthen yourself in He who is a strong fortress (Ps 31.2). Then, as you return to your normal life, you will not be an easy prey for the devil anymore.

Undoubtedly, it was the Holy Spirit who inspired the king of Israel to make the Lord his Citadel. The Lord guided David to write this so that you and I and all those who believe in the Lord would also make the Almighty our strong refuge, a sacred shelter. Now, it is up to us to find shelter in His protection. If we do so, there will not be even one time when the devil will be successful in oppressing us.

It is important to know that every revelation given in Scriptures is an order from the Eternal One. Therefore, obey every commandment, even if you consider some of them unimportant. When you fulfill it, you prove that you love the Lord and you become His beloved. He gave the orientation to save you. Do not wait for God to do something amazing for you, because He has already done it.

In a clear way, David finishes this verse saying that the Most High was his Rock. He is also yours! Therefore, do not let the devil deceive you. Stand up and assume your position in the Son of God and find shelter whenever the storms of life come.

Besides being the living Rock, God is your Fortress. Be firm in declaring that the evil one will never touch you, for the Omnipotent will keep you safe from all the assaults of the power of hell. It is time to assume the commandment given by the Lord. Do not complain of your lack of luck, for in Him, you will be saved, healed, and prosperous.

In Christ, with love,

Oh God! What an amazing revelation the King of Israel had about You. He understood that it was more than a revelation – it was a commandment. As he assumed it, he sealed every possibility of the enemy to strike him, for he would call upon frequently to his living Rock.

We also want to have You as our safe Shelter, where the storms from hell will not touch us. It is so good to know that we can live positively and do not have to fear the threats of Hell. You are infinitely stronger than all the demons together.

Lord, thank you for being our Rock and Fortress. Now, help us to raise and assume Your orders. We understand that all Your revelations are commandments for us to live in Your presence and do Your will. Thank You, Father!
