15/02/2015 - IN WHAT WE SHOULD GLORY

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight, says the Lord. Jeremiah 9.23,24

The verse that we are studying talks about a commandment about our joy in the Most High. Truly, He has filled us with power to do His work, and now, He teaches us what to do in order for us not to lose the efficiency of His power. As the Lord Jesus himself said, without Him we can do absolutely nothing (Jo 15.5). Christ will be pleased with our actions when we obey His orders.

With the anointing that we received when we were baptized in the Holy Spirit, we gained His wisdom. However, we should not glory in it, but in Him. Sometimes, in the moment we are in the spirit, we manage to speak and pray with boldness and also to make the most sensible and productive decisions (Ac 4.31). However, we are warned not to forget that this is a gift received from God and that it should be used exclusively for His glory (Rm 11.36).

The one who is strong should not glory in his own strength. The pressures that come from Hell many times seem that will destroy us. However, since we are guided and sheltered by the Lord, with a simple prayer, we throw all the barriers to the ground. God’s strength in us, when we act on His name, is powerful. However, never think that it is so because of you, but only because He is in you.

When a person decides to follow the divine orientations, many times he does not pay attention on what God does for him. When he puts the Kingdom of Heaven and its justice in first place, he sees the power of the Lord multiply his income and bring prosperity to His house. However, in some moments, he is tempted to consider that that prosperity is because of his capacity of negotiating and managing what he has. Give the glory to God, for He is the one who does it all.

Since we are united with the Most High, we become wise, strong, and prosperous, but we should glory only in knowing that He is the Lord. There is no force that can stop him, or hinder the advance of His work, or destroy His church. There is no other way and there will never be, for only the Lord is God (Dt 4.39). He is our glory!

He is beneficent – executes the act of doing what is good. He makes judgment, and in fact, he has already done it, for he defeated the devil that had us in his hands. When His people pray, He makes justice on earth. Take this as a mission, for the Lord said that whoever believed in Him would also do the same works as He did (Jo 14.12). Whenever you are praying and feel to use the divine power, do what is good at that same moment: execute judgment and demand the end of the works of evil.

This is the best way to please the Most High. Thus, even the desires of your heart will be fulfilled. He will be pleased from such attitudes and will reward you.

In Christ, with love,

Glorious God! How good it is to know about Your commandment, for even if You give us such wisdom compared to Solomon, we should not glory in it. If you also give us strength like Samson had, we should only glory on the fact that You are Lord.

What is the use of having wisdom if You are not glad with our joy? What is the use of being strong if we don’t please You? If we are prospering, we should not place our satisfaction in the abundance of material goods, but in Your faithfulness and firmness.

You teach us to do good, judgment, and justice on earth. You have already given us power for such a thing, and therefore, we ask for Your favor. We will make good use of our rights, and thus, You will be greatly praised and exalted.
