But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, “Indeed you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife.” Genesis 20.3

Four thousand years ago, it was common that a husband would be killed so that someone else could take the widow as his wife. Because of that, Abraham told Sarah twice, to omit the fact that she was his wife and tell people that she was his sister, which was also true (Gen 20:12). In both cases, she was not possessed; that way God protected her from such dishonor. Those who shut their ears to the voice of the Lord open themselves to the enemy’s operations.

The patriarch of the Hebrews knew that the Most High would never deny his part in the alliance that was made with Him. As long as he walked in His presence and was perfect, God would protect him from all evil. You can put all your trust in the heavenly Father, but if your better half allows the demon to possess her, she will forcefully fall into his will. All children of God should be vigilant and pray to never fall into temptation.

In Egypt, God sent great plagues to the Pharaoh and his house, because he took Sarah to be his wife (Gen 12:17). Before they gathered together, the Lord knew how to discipline the one who though he was the king of the world. Run away from prostitution in all of its levels. Every sin you commit is outside the body, but adultery contaminates the temple of the Lord. There are some clear warnings about this in Proverbs 5, 6 and 7.

The Most High protects today’s marriages, as long as both sides are faithful to one another. However, the party that allows themselves to be tempted by the evil spirit, and even after being warned, they give themselves to sin, should be prepared for the price they will pay. The innocent spouse can file for divorce, if he or she wants to (Matthew 19:9). However, there is no logical reason why anyone can be unfaithful to their better half; after all, this causes a wound that can last forever. Always be faithful!

Abimelech trembled when, in his dreams, God showed him what his sentence was going to be, unless he repented. He did that almost immediately, swearing that he acted in innocence. How many people have lost their lives ahead of time, for not paying attention to the warnings and continued fooling themselves. Be careful! The enemy that made you sin will accuse you day and night, if you don’t repent.

The sins that are done in the time of ignorance are easy to be forgiven; however, we can find a true gall of bitterness in those that were warned, but close their eyes, allowing themselves to be taken by demons and commit mistakes. If you don’t tell everything to your spouse and ask for forgiveness, you will not be forgiven by the Lord now or after death (Matthew 5:23-25). The Lord is a righteous Judge and will never lie to hide anyone’s sins.

Now, before the Final Judgment, God shows the sentence to those who sinned. If they don’t repent, they will be ordered to march towards the eternal fire. Why not repent now if, later on, your sins will be published so that everyone will know (Luke 12:2-3).

In Christ, with love

Faithful God! Those who don’t trust in You make so many mistakes, even after receiving Your warnings as to the wrong path that they are walking on. Have mercy on them!

Pharaoh had a free sample of what was going to happen to him if he possessed Your friend’s wife. Today, those who are saved are not only friends, but children; that’s why the punishment will be worse if someone touches someone else’s better half.

Abimelech was a dead man, just for taking Sarah to his home. No one should fool around with the truth. Even if the adulterer is a servant of the Lord, the devil will surely touch those who sinned against the holiness of marriage. Amen!
