The LORD has taken away your judgments, he has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst; You shall see disaster no more.

Zephaniah 3:15

From the fall of Adam to the death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary, there was a judgment passed against us due to the fact that the sin committed by the first couple in the Garden of Eden affected us, separating us from the Lord. Such punishment would be eternal because there was no righteous man to pay the price to redeem us from perdition. But the Son of God came to replace us and when He died on the Calvary He paid the price for our freedom once and for all. Today, those who accept Him as Savior are saved from damnation.

Because the death of Christ saved us from the eternal punishment, there’s nothing else to condemn us. The holy, pure and spotless Lamb of God died to give us life and, with His blood, He bought us back to the Father. Nothing more needs to be done because the debt was paid in full. Thus, those who accept Christ receive the power to be made a child of God (John 1:12) and therefore they are not affected by the influence of darkness and begin to live in newness of life. Jesus changed our fate forever!

No Christian should be afraid of enjoying the abundant life brought by the Lord Jesus (John 10:10b) because what He has done for man cannot be undone. Therefore, those who receive the Lord Jesus are free from the dominion of the devil and become heirs of all the promises when they give heed to the Word of God (Romans 8:17).

The prophet stated in the verse above that the enemy that afflicted us was cast out. Even if the devil wants to rise up in order to oppress us again, he won’t be able to because Jesus was not only victorious, but He also annihilated the evil one. The ability of the devil to dominate us again no longer exists. Even if he goes to any length to achieve this goal but the Christian confesses who he is in the Lord, then Satan will have no choice but to retreat.

The best part is that Jesus, the King of Kings, the King of the holy people is in our midst. We don’t have to climb mountains to find Him nor do we need to do penance, sacrifices or any other religious practices in order to achieve the divine favor; after all, who can do us any harm if the Almighty is with us?

Satan, having been cast out forever, knows that his ability to make you sin is over. So if he tempts you, do not give in; resist him and rebuke him in the Name of Jesus and in doing so he will flee (James 4:7). So, with faith, take your place in Christ and start enjoying abundant life.
