02/06/2017 - JEHOSHAPHAT’S GREAT ANSWER

And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 2 Chronicles 20:3

Punishment was on its way and it would not be light. Great evil requires great response. If Jehoshaphat did not fear the Lord he would have to draw from all of Judah’s material resources and pay for a king to rescue him, like from Syria or from Egypt. However, whoever has faith in the true God knows that if He permitted the trials, He is the only one that can end it. But the answer would have to be in size and kind and this he did not hesitate.

A confederation of nations was formed to destroy the kingdom of Judah. Undoubtedly to the natural viewer, this would be more than sufficient to defeat the chosen people. There united the Amonites, the Moabites and those from the mountain of Seir. They seemed endless, countless and rushed with all hatred, which was the devil’s wage that he paid them with to do his will. However, they forgot one thing: Jehoshaphat was a servant to the infallible God.

The only possible escape was in the Lord. This is why the king was fearful but did not allow the fear to invade his heart or despair to contaminate his soul. This is one of the secrets to be learned and practiced always! If you fill yourself full of the threats and lies of the devil, you will not be able to believe in the Most High. If your mind is troubled you will not even be able to pray. To respect and fear the Omnipotent is everything that has to happen in the interior of the person saved.

The King of Judah sought the One who could deliver and free him. The Lord is a war lord. If He permitted anything to invade your life it is because You rejected or abandoned Him. Consequently the Evil One planted some of his works in in Your life. However, if an evil act brought you any suffering, a good act will bring your deliverance. God is just and will not let evil overtake you if you repent and pray earnestly in faith. Why not settle your differences with Him now?

Jehoshaphat’s attitude before the great wrath that fell over him should be repeated always and every time the same happens to you. Don’t let the devil use you. How many times have you been blessed but did not recognize, or correspond to the benefits that you received? Repent and be answered now. The Omnipotent says if we are unfaithful He will always remain faithful, as he cannot deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13).

The King started to seek the Lord and persisted until he received the answer. It is wrong to believe God wants nothing to do with us. Only those who persist are saved, healed, delivered and redeemed. The Father’s love is endless, eternal; so never say “There’s no more way!” Draw near to the Lord Most High in prayer and in the Holy Scriptures and He will show you what to do. Don’t despair with the threats from the malignant because he is a liar. (John 8:44)

The king’s heart received a direction: he needed the support of the entire population so he ordained that everyone fast and pray. When the enemy attacks, call your family to fast and to pray together seeking divine help. Alas, God is also known as The Merciful. The solution is in the Lord!

In Christ, with Love,

Wonderful God! You did not turn away from Jehoshaphat although he had forgotten You and gone with Ahab. Then on seeing the danger and peril, he sought You and obtained Your forgiveness and help, since You are clement!

The same happened to many of my brothers, sisters and readers. They strayed from the path, were swallowed by the enemy’s lies and were marred. In sight of this the only thing You could do was to allow evil to attack them.

Father, these people cry out pleading for Your favor, so talk to them, show them what they must do to be delivered from the enemy’s evil. The devil can’t keep harming and oppressing them because when asking You for forgiveness, You forgive. Thank you. Amen!
