23/05/2017 - JEHOSHAPHAT’S SUCCESS

He had much property in the cities of Judah; and the men of war, mighty men of valor, were in Jerusalem. 2 Chronicles 17:13

When somebody is well with God, his life and the lives of those who are under his authority change entirely for the better. Once Jehoshaphat began serving the Lord all his positions and circumstances started to be favorable not only for him but for all his subjects too. Never had so much civil construction been seen in the cities throughout the country at the same time. On top of that, in very little time, many people appeared ready to do battle, and men of valor in Jerusalem were sent by God to do good. How wonderful it is to be His servant!

The Most High knows what each one needs to fulfill their mission; for this, people are already born with the necessary to live well. Those who examine the Word of God discover endless treasures to be enjoyed and lived. Jesus declared that the Scriptures testify about Him (John 5:36), and certainly do testify about each one of us. Those who don’t want to know their rights suffer great damage and losses. But if you seek them, you shall find them! What will you do?

Jehoshaphat learned in the sacred books in his days. Most likely he enjoyed and delighted in the Psalms written by his great-great-grandfather, the books of Moses, or Joshua and records and reports of the times of the judges and kings that preceded him. In Samaria this didn’t mean much because their sovereign leaders were not keen on God but on Baal instead. That’s why there are not so many records of marvels and wonders of the Lord as in the time of Judah. Poor sinners!

To make up the army of Judah, we count Adnah with 300 thousand warriors. There was also Jehohanan that brought 280 thousand together, and there was Amasiah with 200 thousand. With these numbers of warriors, we see that in those days there were large contingents ready and armed. Others may have been inducted or drafted to join the king, but Amasiah volunteered to God. Halleluiah!

Eliada from the tribe of Benjamin, brought with him 200 thousand men, armed with bows and shields. After him came Jehozabad with 180 thousand. One million one hundred and eighty thousand in a territory smaller than ten thousand square kilometers is a fete of God. This does not include those that Jehoshaphat had already placed in the strongly fortified cities of Judah. The strength God gave Him is undeniably visible. It is good to be on God’s side.

Even if you have a modest or humble beginning, directed by the Most High, you will not stumble and will overcome the obstacles in your path. Know that God will place the very best people at your side, to assist you, but not to be slaves or work for low pay or for nothing. Be a leader! The righteous are concerned even about the animals and also much more for their helpers.

By examining how the Lord’s servants lived in the past, we can gather what He wants from us and for us in these present days. Fulfill your calling with all your understanding and might. Be ready to carry it out with as one who will have to settle with God on the Day of Judgment. Be a servant at all times.

In Christ, with Love,

God of the Armies! Considering the small kingdom of Judah having such a huge army, we can only be certain that the heavenly army You have prepared is even larger to handle and carry out through us the task of fulfilling Your wonderful and beautiful plan.

The work that You have entrusted us with is larger than we can imagine. We will only complete this task with Your anointment and assistance which we know will never fall short. We want to do everything You have shown and taught us. This way we can be victorious. All glory to You!

Move the hearts of the new Amasiah´s, so that we can have 180 thousand servants ready for war. With Your touch, he came and joined Jehoshaphat. Thus, Your Kingdom was more blessed. Thank You for taking care of Your people, Your work and us, the servants. Amen!
