And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. Luke 22:31

Observing this verse, we can see spiritual plans for the human that we can’t even imagine the origin.  We know not why Satan asked to place Peter through a sieve and sift him as the farmers do with wheat, when they remove the chaff and other impurities.  Simon had no idea the danger he was risking.  When the Lord warns you of something, immediately accept Him at his word and pray that the evil will not affect you.

The fact that Jesus prayed for Peter must fill our hearts with joy every time He reveals something to us, because when He sees the devil planning to destroy something in our life, He will pray for us.  If it were not so, Jesus would be making exceptions to persons.  The Creator and Lord of all want only our good. He watches out for humanity, especially for those who are part of His body.

If you are under any tribulation – be it sickness or any other misfortune – do not doubt that the Savior interceded in your favor.  There is not one prayer from the Son that the Father would not answer; therefore, when you notice any attack from the evil one, believe in the divine power to destroy any such implement.  You do not have to pray desperately for help, but only thank the Father and rebuke the evil.

The Most High treats all His sons and daughters in the same way. Be totally certain that if any evil comes against you, Jesus has already interceded for you, and the Father has conceded His favor to you. Use the authority of the Name of Jesus and destroy the intention of the devil.  Don’t even think much less believe that this evil can be the Father’s will, for He and the devil think radically different.

Simon Peter, being warned, did not understand that the Master was serious.  The disciple even said he was ready to go with Jesus (v. 33).  He did not think or reflect on his choice of words, for they made the declaration by Jesus Christ seem to be unnecessary.  This will never occur, because everything that comes from the Lord is fully correct and right.  We must never question Him or rebut Him because He is perfect in knowledge and wisdom.

Jesus said that Peter could have grown fainthearted in faith and this is very serious.  The faith that God gives us to hear His Word should only grow.  The trial that the apostle would suffer could annihilate his faith, and he should be there to strengthen his brothers in faith (Luke 22:32).  Those who are in tribulation and keep their faith in God becomes like master for the others. We must comfort the others with the comfort that we received (2 Corinthians 1:4).

When he denied Jesus for the third time and the cock crowed, Peter saw that  Christ never errs not even by a millimeter.  We would have avoided defeats and sufferings, if we had given attention to the Lord, would we not?   I pray that you may never be fooled by the lies of the devil.  The Father answers to all the requests of His son. Halleluiah!

In Christ, with Love,

Father!  When Jesus saw the request of the devil, He interceded for Peter.  I believe that Your Son acts in the same way every time he sees us in danger.  This way we are helped and rescued in situations we don’t even know and will only come to know in Heaven.

I pray that we may have learned this lesson and may live trusting ever more in You and Your Word. If Your Son intercedes for us, why would we cry out and ask for Your help? Your help is given us by Jesus’s prayer for us.  We have but to believe.

Christ did not want Peter to grow fainthearted in faith.  Likewise, He does not want mine or any other brother’s faith to wane.  We have all the abundant reasons to give You our true praise for all that You do for us.  Amen!
