And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”  Joshua 5.13

The exodus of the Israelites from Egypt was the work of God’s hands, a perfect plan in all senses. In the same way, our deliverance from the kingdom of darkness was also idealized by God, but accomplished individually. One day, in eternity, we will see how much He loved us and kept us even when we were in sin. In the right moment, after the Lord waited for our decision, our ‘yes’ made His heart glad.

The disobedient stopped in the middle of the way, for they would stain the land with their fears and sins. In the same way, today, those who do not obey to the divine precepts will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Now, since they are contaminated with spiritual prostitution, with physical, mental, and spiritual actions, they will be disqualified for heavenly Canaan. Therefore, they will not be accepted in the Kingdom of holiness. Have mercy, Lord!

Moses was not watchful and sinned in his wrath, not sanctifying the Lord before the people. Because of that attitude, he was not allowed to put his feet on the Promised Land. Now Joshua, his assistant, was made leader with the responsibility of making the Israelites enter in Canaan. Since the Lord said that He would be with Joshua as He was with Moses, we should also be comforted, for He will be with us as He was with Jesus. Hallelujah!

Jericho was in front of the place where the Israelites should enter the Land of Promises. It was a city of high walls, strongly armed. That looked like a declaration from Hell that the children of Israel should not pass there. If there is anything that hinders you from assuming your place in Christ, do not give it any attention, for whatever the Lord has said in His Word will be fulfilled.

Joshua went near the entrance of the city. This was certainly with the divine direction. When he got there, he lifted his eyes and looked. Then, when he saw someone who did not look like someone from his people, he asked who it was. He was not afraid, because if that man was one of his enemies, he would start fighting right then. Always be ready to use the authority that was given to you from the Word of God, and never be afraid of anything.

When he heard that that man was the Prince of the armies of the Lord, Joshua bowed and worshipped Him, for He was our Savior before He became man. Thus, he listened what direction he should follow in order to be successful. Now, he was before the One who would be his Commander, and who would lead him to victory. The word that the Lord sends you should guide your life; therefore, surrender yourself to it and, when you listen to it believe that your victory has come. Amen!

Every word of God has the power to fulfill what He promised. By no means will it return empty, without fulfilling what He ordered. Pay attention to what the Lord said to you and you did not believe. Repent and make it be fulfilled.
