You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32.7

In Christ, we find the perfect place to hide from the enemy. King David wrote the psalm that is in this message and he certainly made use o this shelter when Saul, with three thousand soldiers, chased him in all four corners of Israel, and never found him. In our days, we are taken by the uncontrollable violence with no perspective to end, we need to shelter ourselves in the Highest; otherwise, the enemy will find us.

Elijah went to the Brook Cherith, after reprimanding the king of Samaria (1 Kings 17:1-4). That was the beginning of his ministry, because, until then, he was one of the inhabitants of Gilead. The challenge that God gave him was great: warn a ruler. The prophet spoke to Ahab saying that there would be no rain or dew in Israel, unless he allowed it. After that, he was searched all over Israel, but nobody found him.

Those who make a shelter out of the Lord will never be found by anyone or by any inflamed dart of the enemy. Therefore, we should have faith in Jesus not as something meaningless, but as something real. Trust in what the Father has said to you and, even if the enemy does everything to strike you, he will not succeed. There is no way that a servant of God can be protected in Him and be afflicted by any evil.

Given the fact that God has put himself as our shelter, why should we fear evil and allow ourselves to be found by him? Our Lord is perfect in everything, including guarding those who put their faith in the Word; Therefore, always shelter yourself in the Almighty, having Him as your stronghold; this way, you will see that you went through life without any evil attacking you. God has a pleasure in protecting those that are truly His.

In the Synagogue of Nazareth, Jesus spoke about the religious faith that was practiced there, comparing it to the faith in the days of Elijah and Elisha. In the case of the first one, only the healed from leprosy. All those who were at the synagogue took the Master to the top of a hill to precipitate Him. However, protected by God, the Savior passed by all those people and was gone (Luke 4:24-30).

The Most High is the best shelter for those who believe, having in mind that they will be preserved from all anguish and all capacity of the enemy to whip a human being. The Spirit of the Lord led David to write to all humanity that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.(Psalm 46:1) So, why despise Him and try things that man creates, instead of going to the Protector?

Start practicing the Word in your life, that way, the Father will clothe you with joyful songs of deliverance. Instead of crying with anger, sadness and frustration, you will sing beautiful songs that will exult He that has put Himself at your disposal as a true and righteous Shelter. Don’t let the devil find you!

In Christ, with Love,

Lord, our Shelter! Who can do us any evil, if You are the appropriate place for Your children to hide in? What attack from the enemy could ever hit us if we are refugees in You?

We will always find ourselves in You. Even if there are a thousand people like Saul chasing us, they will never find us, because we will never be discovered. Our prayer is of thankfulness and trust in You.

Thank You for preserving us from the anguish and other kinds of oppression of the enemy. Clothe us in joyful songs of deliverance, so that we may pass unharmed through the enemy. Amen!
