13/03/2015 - LET NO ONE BOAST

Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours. 1 Corinthians 3.21

Do not promote any servant of God to a position that does not belong to him. The Most High uses people because of His goodness. Elijah was a man with the same passions that we have (Jm 5.17). The glory is the Lord’s, and He will not give it to another (Is 42.8). Those who trust in the Lord have the obligation of letting Him use them, and after they have done everything that was ordered, they should consider themselves useless servants. Those who fit as servants will be more used as such.

Our greatest glory is always to be servants of the Almighty. We were called to fulfill His will. Therefore, we must be grateful and never be dominated by any evil feeling, thinking that we are different than other people. What makes us different is the fact that we accept our position with joy. Undoubtedly, God has been very good to us in entrusting us a mission.

What does man have in him to offer to He who is complete and perfect? Even if Adam had not sinned, we would need the wisdom and partnership of the Lord in order to live with dignity. The word that the Most High gave to Adam, telling him not to eat of the fruit of the prohibited tree, had the power to keep him from the coming temptations (Gn 3.3). You will be protected of the enemy’s lies if you obey the orientations that God gives you.

Even though someone might be used by the Omnipotent, he must remember that we continue having the same passions as other people. It is good to reinforce that nobody will be promoted to a superior class of “poor mortals”. Thus, why should you let vanity and pride take over your heart? On the contrary, if we have the privilege of being used for great works, may humility be our best adornment.

We are warned by Isaiah, the prophet, that the glory and praise belong to the Lord. He guarantees that it will not be given to anyone, and therefore, those who fall in the temptation of thinking that they are better than others should reflect on this Biblical declaration in order to escape being influenced by the evil one. The enemy knows that if he manages to deceive you, making you feel someone important, you will stop being a channel of the divine flow.

The truth is that the servants of the Lord trust in Him, and after they fulfill their mission, they must pray so that they might be used in other works. As Jesus was obedient to the Father in everything, so we must render to Him our complete obedience. The worst attitude that we can have is to assume the authorship or glory of what God says, does, and reveals.

Never let pride or vanity drive you away from the position of servant before the Almighty, or else He will not be able to use you. Now, those who rebel will lose everything that they were doing. Always reflect on what you have done, and if you notice any action of the enemy, enter in prayer, repent, and firmly decide to accomplish the Lord’s complete will. Be the good and faithful servant that will enter the eternal rest (Mt 25.21).

In Christ, with love,

Lord, our Pastor! Thank You for having called us for Your Kingdom and for teaching us to act correctly in all situations. With Your instructions, we can avoid the vanity of considering ourselves better than other people.

Your goodness allows us to be used in Your work. Thus, we manage to remain in the position of servants, for in truth, like Elijah, we are subject to the same passions as other people. May the glory and honor for everything be always Yours.

May we never hinder You from using us, and after we have done all, may our heart not boast on anything. Even if You consider us useless, we will continue to serve You, for we do not want to be bad and careless servants.
