Have mercy on me, O LORD! Consider my trouble from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death, Psalm 9:13

Let us pray to understand what David felt when he cried for divine mercy. There must have been great pain! This revelation is for the entire church. Often we have the impression that the people used by the Lord in the past had no problems, but this is not true. They were subject to the same passions as we are today. However they knew how to pray and they were heard and attended.

Whoever obtains God’s mercy will never be the same as before. Until he is forgiven nobody understands what it means to be lost. Unbelievers live like drunks as they consider it normal to stumble and get hurt. However, when a man is delivered from the empire of darkness he knows that the Father has done something tremendous for him. 

Those who allow themselves to be manipulated by the devil disturb us, because their behavior, their commercial practices and social habits lead them to act in ways that are contrary to good. Their works are like propaganda of the enemy which seeks to deceive and destroy the innocent. On knowing this we need urgently to do something in their favor. Otherwise they will never know the Light and will hurt us very much.

With his way of life, the sinner does not recognize the evil that he does to the generation of young adults. He causes not only those who have the Holy Spirit to suffer but harms all of society. We have to show that the devil was defeated, his power was extinct and peace can reign in the hearts of everyone. Jesus gave us the authority over the devils’ doings. Why not use it?

David said that the Almighty lifted him up from the gates of death. Today, this is done to those who fell into temptation and upon hearing the Gospel, decides to return to Christ. We have to do everything possible for that person to understand that if they remain prostrated, then they are on their way to be doomed. This is harvest time. Let us use the sickle.

If you have entertained any temptation know that you are playing at the edge of the abyss. Should you fall, you will never make it out.  Don’t postpone your salvation; if you do, when you decide you want to return it might be too late. God is now knocking at the door to your heart, waiting to be invited in. Receive Jesus! He will transform you for the better. Do you accept Him?

The gates of death take away those who like them, or their fantasy lies to live on the brink of the cliff. God’s power is at your side, awaiting your decision to transform your life. Make the correct choice: invite the Lord to enter your heart and to transform you completely.
