 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world. John 6: 51

Without the help of the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to understand the biblical message, even if one tries very hard. The evangelist may have the Spirit, but if the Lord does not speak to the heart of the listener, the evangelist will fail to turn the listeners into doers of the Word. It is not by might nor by power that one understands the Truth, much less by the intellectual capacity.

Jesus was in Jerusalem and explained the Gospel, saying that the Father’s will was for us to believe in Him and obtain eternal life. But that, to the unwary, seemed delirious. When Christ said that on the last day He would raise up those who ate His flesh and drank of His blood (v. 54), they began to murmur. To such unbelievers, the Lord was a madman. They did not accept that Jesus was the living Bread that came down from Heaven.

Some who knew Him thought He was the son of Joseph. So they were surprised that the Master said that He came down from Heaven. As you bring the Good News to those who do not know the Word, be careful not to speak beyond that person’s capacity of understanding. Jesus had this zeal, for He showed how the people reacted when being taught that He is the Savior.

No one can go to Christ unless the Father leads him (John 14: 6). On the Last Day, He will raise up those who have believed in His Name. The man and woman who open their hearts and accept the Gospel hear and learn from God, choosing to go to Christ. Our work must be done as the Word teaches, under the guidance of the Lord. Even in our midst, there are those who attend meetings, but do not know the meaning of believing in God. We need to reach such people!

In His time, Christ knew that it was necessary to proclaim the message of eternal life, because, after His death and resurrection, the time would come when the disciples would bring the Good News to people, and they would be saved. We are living exactly this moment, when the crowds of those who are spiritually hungry bow to the revelation that Jesus is the Savior and Lord.

Those who can understand who Christ is and what they can have by believing in Him are rescued. Our ministry is to convey to the people the understanding of the Word, leading all to be saved, freed and healed. Salvation is not done in stages, but individually, when we accept Him as Savior. Whoever receives Him becomes son or daughter of God – a new creature.

By being saved, one sees the evil power ceasing upon their life. Whoever eats the flesh of Jesus, the revelation of the Word, gains something precious: eternal life. But the foolish shall die for ever. Which side are you on? Think about it and make your decision!
