Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other.  Genesis 13.11

We must remain vigilant so as not to fall into temptation.  The Word warns that sin knocks at the door.  He who lives in the presence of God will never give in to the enemy, for if he seeks Heavenly direction for the presented proposals, he will receive understandings to become victorious.  The sons of God are guided by the Holy Spirit, but those led by the enemy make him their father.

When anything is presented to you, pray that you not decide for something against divine will and consequently against your happiness.  Temptations fascinate; preoccupations over the necessities of life deceive and the desire to enjoy what God did not give, make the Word fruitless.  Even seeing how great you’ve become can be a trap from hell.  So be ware and pray!

If there is no certainty concerning which way to turn, ask for some time to get it.   That is far better than giving your word and later seeing that the choice was not good.  Whoever becomes guarantee to someone else’s obligation should get release for himself from this commitment, so as not to pay for what he didn’t use.  After consulting the Lord, wait for his answer.  Impatience does not mean yes.

Lot lifted his eyes and saw what he should not have seen, even though it was real.  If he had sought guidance from the heavens, the story would have been different.  He wouldn’t have lost everything twice!  If he had seen with his spiritual eyes he would have made another decision.  Certainly he approved the confusion that his shepherds provoked against Abraham’s. Alas when something starts wrong it ends wrong because it doesn’t come from God.

Later on, being rescued by Abraham, he should have reconsidered his attitude and asked his uncle to allow him to return to live together; however, pride stopped Lot from acting correctly.  For this reason this event seemed normal.  Evaluate why so many negative situations occur in your life, because a causeless curse will not prevail. (Proverbs 26:2) and seek to correct yourself.  Whoever walks in darkness has a wavering step, but in light there is no stumbling.

When the spirit of error prevails over one’s life that person doesn’t recognize nor recants even though knowing to be in the wrong path, because its master, the demon, hates happiness.  Cease to walk in darkness, seek to walk in the light; or be prepared for the misfortunes that will come over your life.  Rejoice in the Lord, for certainly He will consider the desires of your heart.

It is not ugly to confess sin, but it is to remain in sin.  Those who fall have a right to a new start.  The Lord will satisfy you as long as you want to change.  Lot’s story would have been certainly different if he had walked in the light.  Nevertheless, he chose what he saw and started out to do his selfish will separated from his uncle.

In Christ, with love,

Righteous Judge!  Because you loved Lot, many times you touched his heart to convict him that his decision was wrong.  However, as often happens to many of those who want material success at any cost, he didn’t hear you and paid dearly for this.

He was right next to Abraham, being fed by the patriarch’s faith. That’s why he should not have opened his eyes without Your direction.  On doing this, the deceiver showed him how “great” he could be.  Now who will grow without Your help?

That these lessons may take root in us so that we may never make our decisions outside of You.  We must live in joy, with you as our Guide, we will triumph.  That this be true in my reader’s lives!
