And the people waited for Zacharias, and marveled that he lingered so long in the temple. Luke 1.21

The faithfulness of Zacharias and Elizabeth, his wife, made the Lord look at them and give them a promise. Certainly, the Most High will also look to you and give you promises if you fulfill the word that He sends you, for He delights in exalting His own people. In the case of Zacharias, the people marveled with the fact that he lingered so long in the presence of God. This happened because an angel was sent from the Father to give good news for this man (v. 11-20).

Due to his lingering in the Holy of Holies, the people questioned among themselves: “was he in sin and died or was God visiting him?” As servants of the Lord, we must never allow the works of darkness to reach and subdue us. Those who are praying and watching will never enter in temptation, and consequently, will be toasted by the wonderful Most High God with pleasant surprises.

Whenever you are in prayer and feel the divine presence, do not hasten to leave that place. Those are the times when we are able to open to the Lord and obtain a faith that makes the Almighty attend our requests. Zacharias attained what seemed impossible to him – but not to the Lord. Whoever learns the secret of being connected to the Father will always prevail over any adversity or abnormality.

God operates in the two ends when he must fulfill His promise. According to the biblical account, it is not possible to know if Zacharias also had problems that made it impossible for him to be a father, or only if Elizabeth was barren. However, since it was the work of He who is perfect and powerful in all things, the impossibilities were removed, and John the Baptist was born. Do not let yourself be downcast by anything that hinders you from being happy, for the Lord has the power to do anything in order to attend your needs.

The Most High has many things to accomplish in our generation, and certainly, He will choose the faithful who fulfill His commandments. He will not resurrect Elizabeth to give birth to someone He will use in the future, nor will He do so with Mary, the mother of Jesus. These were servants who were distinguished in obedience in their days. Nowadays, we will be found by Him, if we are serving Him with all of our hearts.

The reward will always be of he who believes in what the Lord says. Those who do not seek God do not find Him their whole lives. The biblical message is that the Father only approaches those who approach Him. Those who are too worried with the vanities of the world will see later that this was the cause of their downfall. It is not good to sow the divine and productive seed amongst thorns (Mt 13.1-23).

The son who comes with the promise of the Most High will always be a blessing, but it is necessary to teach him to remain in the ways of the Lord and to serve Him faithfully. Unfortunately, there are many who have been born with a direct help from the Lord, but today, are completely far from the ways of the Father. Some have even left early for eternity.

In Christ, with love,

Lord! We know that You care for Your people! May everyone be marveled with what You have prepared to do for me and for all Your servants. May our lives be like living letters, which will be read by those who need to know the Truth or need to firm themselves in it.

Help us to remain faithful to You, for then you will be able to look to us and give us a promise that will make us rejoice. May we never hasten to leave Your presence, and may we know how to hold our words and fulfill Your plans.

Thank You for fulfilling perfectly and completely what you have promised. Since You work in the two ends, Your promise will be fulfilled completely. There are many things to be done in our generation, and certainly, you will seek for the faithful. May we be considered faithful to You.
