And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother. Genesis 29:10

The lives of those who serve God are full of good incidents, for this reason those who trust in His direction should never lose heart or skip steps.  It is necessary to await the orders from the One who is the Omniscient.  After he heard from the mouth of the Lord the most beautiful promises, Jacob got up from Bethel and went to the land of the children of the East.  It is always necessary to get up and go for the divine plan to be fulfilled so that we can be filled with joy and be happy.  Halleluiah!

There was joy in the heart of this chosen of God and the certainty that he would be successful in the mission to find the right woman to take for a wife.  Jacob knew that by being directed by the Almighty he would make the right choice and decision because he would be perfectly led.  There were beautiful women in Canaan but they were unprepared for the Lord’s purpose and plan.  In God’s activities, His servants are fulfilled; so it is best and wise to wait for His orders.

To find their other half should be one of the main objectives in a person’s life, right after seeking the Kingdom of God and its righteousness in the first priority (Matthew 6:33). Without a stable family and a trustworthy spouse, the human being cannot be completely fulfilled.  That is the way that the Creator planned it to be; don’t swerve or back off from the paths He ordained through His word.  Besides, the main objective is to have been used by the Author in executing His works.

Arriving close to Padan Aram the Lord led Jacob to a well in the country, showing that his steps were being directed by the One who knows all things.  We too have to find us a well like this so that as servants of the Almighty, we have at our disposition the Water of Life, Jesus Christ.  We can do nothing without the love, grace and mercy of God, and the key to obtaining this is to persevere and remain in certainty that one day we will hear “This is the well !”

Jacob watched the three herds lying by the well, which to him had a great significance.  Those who are entirely thirsty are like sheep – they live peacefully, but they need to be watered, fed, protected, well cared for and satisfied – and should be found very close to the Lord, who invites all who are thirsty to come to Him and drink of the water of life. (Revelation 22:17)

There is no coincidence in faith, but as he felt that that well was the beginning of the fulfillment for his life, Jacob asked the men that were near where they were from and also if they knew Laban. So they pointed to show him Rachel, who was arriving with her sheep.  In full view of that picture, Jacob gaped open-mouthed and recognized in that beautiful maiden what he had come looking for from so far.  His heart was overjoyed on seeing her and he soon took up his position on moving the stone from the well top and watering the animals.

Next, Jacob kissed his intended bride and beloved of his heart and raising his voice he cried.  His was a cry of joy as if to say “Thank You, Lord!” It was worth while waiting.  Those who know God’s ways will not have their hopes frustrated if they trust in Him. Halleluiah!

In Christ, with Love,

Lord!  Our Well of Living Waters!  There is nothing better than to wait in You, knowing that Your will is done.  However, before we meet our blessing we need to have our encounter with You.  Then, we will arrive where the blessing will take place.

So many experiences and battles!  Jacob would certainly find the correct place, and certainly he would not lose what You had given him.  His heart’s testimony would not fail.  This gladdens us because what we feel was not born from within our own hearts but came from Your heart.  Therefore, we have only to say: “Thy will be done.”

We want to lift our voices and cry.  Although everything points to say that Your plan will not be fulfilled in us, that which Your wisdom designed will certainly and surely be totally done.  We only want patience and peace so as not to thwart Your work.  We wait for You and love You! Amen!
