The hear is deceitful above all things; and desperately wicked: who can know it?  Jeremiah 17:9

The Lord is talking to Jeremiah about those who are not saved, who are not born again and cannot and should not trust in their hearts.  It is so common to hear people that are unfamiliar with the Bible say that their hearts never deludes them.  However, in truth, when they are converted and God gives them a new heart – spirit – they will then know and understand what it is not to be under illusion. 

A definition for “perverse” could have been “cannot be cured”.  This is why when we are converted, the Lord does not heal, improve or transform our actual being, but He recreates it. Those who are saved, guided and driven by the Holy Spirit have the ability to be one hundred percent correct in everything. However, if he returns to the practice of sin he will corrupt the new being that will be subject to the eternal adversary and enemy of humanity, the devil.

There is nothing more deceitful than a heart that is not in God’s hands, when that person falls into all sorts of temptations.  Certainly the new being, away from the presence of God becomes very unreliable and dangerous. For sure, you know people that have been true stars in the hands of the Lord, but today, sadly we must recognize that they are like burned out wicks. The fire that manifests through these individuals is not that of the Holy Spirit, but that of lust, dishonor and the devilish kingdom.

During all my years of service to the Almighty I have observed Christians that are non-practicing and withdrawn who are real threats to those who surround them. Observe this: every time that they sinned before being converted, their consciences would hurt; however, on being converted they had their consciences removed and replaced with faith. When they lose their faith, they also no longer have a conscience that used to torment them and so, now, they no longer feel hurt when they sin.

The biggest problem that those who are lost have is not having a deceitful heart, but that they walk towards eternal damnation.  You can’t have been forgiven for your sins if you have never tasted or experienced divine love and consequently do not obey biblical commands.  Even if this lost and wicked person be of good will and a selfless person, one who sacrifices his own life for his country or for those who suffer, upon his death he will be marching towards perdition because he was not born again.

Salvation is a very serious subject. Those that are called and sent by the Almighty to preach the word of God, are performing a most worthy and precious work in favor of humanity.  Although many people do not realize the significance and importance of the Gospel, these servants of the Lord will be able to take, with persistence and love, many who are lost, to the understanding of Truth. With this missionary effort many individuals will be saved and in the end of times they will be richly rewarded and compensated forever. Halleluiah!

It does not matter who you are or what you have accomplished. If you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you will be eternally delivered from evil.  As you are born again you will be a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)  The all loving God wants to forgive you and save you right now.  Pray with me. “Father, I surrender.  I accept Jesus as my Savior.  Thank you Lord.” What a tremendous blessing!
