How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? John 5.44

According to Jesus, a person will not be able to believe in God if he does not seek the honor that comes from the only God, which is given by the Father to those who honor him (1Samuel 2.30b), keep his commandments, do not live in accordance with the enemy’s will, consecrate themselves, and have God’s work as top priority (Psalm 111.10). A Christian who is not interested in spreading the Word of God, nor is concerned with those who are lost and the eternal suffering that awaits them, will not be honored.

Many people have admitted that they are not capable of believing. Some make an effort and others spend many hours praying for healing; but deep inside they know that nothing will happen. If they put into practice that which was revealed to them, they would see God’s hand acting on their behalf. There is no magic in faith. God does not play favorites. Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap (Galatians 6.7b). The Lord can act in us exclusively in accordance with the revelation of his Word.

First thing you need to do in order to believe is to remove from your heart all disobedience and wrong desires that are hindering your fellowship with God. Anything that hampers the Lord’s plans must be cast out. A simple feeling of resentment can make a child of God close the door for divine intervention and ignore that which would help him believe.

Those who receive the ability to believe are by no means special. They simply pay attention to that which has been revealed to them, and overcome the forces of evil. Without any doubt, I can say that what prevents God’s plans from being carried out comes from the devil. It was Satan who made Peter rebuke the Master (Mark 8.27-33); and it is he who targets your heart to separate you from God.

It is important that you are prepared to not allow pride take over your heart. Do not accept any praise. When a person says that you are amazing, that without you the world would be lost, answer him immediately that you were used by God. Never keep the glory for yourself, because it belongs to God only. Know that when you give him glory, honor, you are granted the ability to believe. The truth is that, without him, nothing would have been done (John 1.3).

Strive to seek and find the honor that comes from God. When you are used by him, give to the Lord what is rightfully his: the glory. Never allow yourself to receive any credit, because, if this happens, you will not believe and God will not act on your behalf; the devil will destroy your life. If you ever feel the desire to share in the glory which belongs to God, be aware that such feeling comes from the devil.

In Christ, with love,
