My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.  1 John 2.1

Jesus is the best lawyer of all times, and He is next to the Father, for Jesus paid the price of our redemption. Therefore, we must not be afraid of coming before the Most High and pouring our heart out. No defense sponsored by Him will be denied. Those who listen to the Gospel and believe in what they are told are forgiven and saved. Our Lawyer has power to set free those who are enslaved by sin.

We must not sin, but if this happens, we can be certain that if we confess our transgressions, God is faithful to forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). It is so sad to see a person who is committing an error, wandering through the enemy´s “pigsty”, after they have been washed and born again. However, this person can still be recovered if they turn Jesus into their advocate.

The greatest sin is to not believe in the capacity of the Lawyer the Father has prepared and appointed us, for Him to provide our forgiveness. The word Advocate is the same word used for Comforter. Therefore, we cannot be condemned if we have followed the repentance ritual and if we have come to God absolutely certain of our faith in the Name of Jesus. Those who truly repent will be forgiven.

This is the message given by the Lord to be spoken in all places. All transgressions, if taken to the Lord, will be forgiven. Therefore, don’t look at what someone might have done, because they were being used by the enemy. Our message must be firm, so that all sinners may achieve the necessary faith to receive forgiveness and eternal life.

This does not mean that sin is something simple, like some of the scribes thought when they saw Jesus declare to the paralytic: “Son, your sins are forgiven” (Mark 2:5). They thought that the Master was dodging himself from healing that sick man and that He would do some trick. Now, the Lord would never do that! In truth, healing was not the greatest miracle, but the forgiveness of sins was.

The woman who was caught in adultery and almost stoned, not only escaped death, but she was also forgiven (John 8:11). However, she could have been condemned if she had been taken to the Lawyer who does not lose a single cause. We need Him at all times, even if we are accused of having truly erred. Now, He came to seek and save those who were lost (Like 19:10), that is why He never fails.

Forgiveness must be given from within your heart to those who truly repented. However, before you say to someone they are truly forgiven see if they have really repented and if they want to change their life. There are many people who don’t have good judgment and trifle with God’s issues, and because of that, they need to spend some more time under discipline.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

God, our Comforter! There is nothing sadder than to see a person falling in sin and not seeking repentance. On the other hand, to note that those who have fallen are coming back to ask for and receive forgiveness just simply fills our heart with joy.

Who has never erred? Therefore, who can refuse forgiveness to those who have committed a mistake in life and joined the devil? Allowing a person to head on to eternal perdition is simply evil. No citizen of Heaven can do that. Help us to forgive.

What lawyer do we have before You? Your Son! He suffered our sins to deliver us from them. Thus, we can receive forgiveness from our faults and turn back and join You. You are so fantastic, Lord! Amen!
