This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. Acts 19.17

Those who served God in the beginning of the Christian church had a secret weapon that, if used – and they used it a lot –, could set them free from malevolent people in the divine work. Undoubtedly we will find people who don’t have fear from the Lord and, for any reason whatsoever, wish to obstruct the growing of the work the Most High commanded us to do. Nevertheless, if we pray to the Father and ask Him to work on our behalf, we will have His answer.

Seven sons of high priest Sceva decided to be itinerant exorcists. The situation was so absurd that they joined the troubled ones and tried to set them free, imitating Paul. For them, what the apostle did was a trick he had learnt and worked out. I believe someone must have  prayed to the Lord to shame them. Then, the day has come (v. 15).

Those who fulfill the divine work must always be aware of their rights in Christ. When someone tries to compete with you and wasn’t sent by the Lord, or make the people believe that the authority the Father gives to the ones He calls and sends doesn’t come from Heaven, they must pray asking for the divine judgment. Just like it happened when Nehemiah prayed due to Sanballat and his friends’ threats, the Most High will make justice to you too.

What happened to those inconsequent brothers, made the fear of the Lord come upon the ones who were aware of that fact. Look, if a man of God files a lawsuit against somebody who imitates or mocks him, maybe he may be avoiding many people, when knowing the work of the Most High, be filled with divine fear. The best thing is to pray to the Fahter asking for providence.

The result didn’t stop right there, since the Name of Jesus was magnified. It is always be like that. If we ask our Lawyer to represent us before the Supreme Court of the Universe – the Word of God – everybody will see the most perfect work being done. With Jesus working, the result will be the best. The Lord grants us attention today, as He always did to those who exercised their faith in His Word.

We don’t need to go into the judicial system against the opponents of the work. The best thing is to deliver all the subjects to the Lord and ask for His judgment. Woe to those who get carried away by any other spirit; because they despised the divine Word, they’ve got the wrong way and sooner or later will receive the wages of sin.

Even if the persecution continues for a long time, he who is with the enemy doesn’t overcome the plans of the Most High. Saul persecuted David for years, but didn’t succeed. Everything David did contributed for the people to strengthen themselves in faith. Hannah didn’t search for another method to give birth but believed in her God and, because of that, she was heard. Go until the end!
