What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me?  Psalm 116.12

Have you already thought about how much the Lord would raise if He sold His blessings? However, He owns all things, and because of that, He doesn’t need anything. God blesses because His heart is love and Jesus bought for all mankind the right to be set free from the empire of darkness and of all suffering caused by the demons. Do not let yourself be fooled! Stay firm in what the Most High says.

Jesus forbid His disciples to charge for what they did to the people for, because they were His servants, they had received the authority of grace (Matt 10:8-10). Besides this, if there is any retribution for something done to people, they must be received in the return of Jesus. The reward will be enormous, because when we rescue one who is suffering; it is like the Lord himself had done the work.

However, there is a reward for the benefits someone receives from God, and the psalmist speaks about this in the verse we are studying. This payment does not remove anything from us, but it adds to us. Thus, we can be certain that we will have a greater reward. The right thing to do is not to wait for it here, but in eternity. Today, we must seek what to do in order to please the Lord.

Each healing and deliverance, among other blessings people receive, are blessings worked by the Most High. So that there was no doubt on giving something or not in exchange for what we are given, the psalmist asked about what should be offered to God because of what He does for us. When we understand what He wants from us, without a doubt, we will long to do this payment right away.

The psalmist declared he would do three things to “pay” for the divine benefits: take the cup of salvation, call upon the name of the Lord, and pay his vows (Psalm 116:13-14).  Actually, he is not paying, but his is receiving. Now, the more you drink from this cup, call upon the name of the Lord, and fulfill your vows, the better you will live. Therefore, now, you have a safe direction to offer God what He is due because He has helped you.

It is necessary to seek and receive what has been included in the cup of salvation, because Jesus paid a high price for what was done to us. In this cup, there is everything that has been provided for you to live far from sin, from negative and wrong thoughts, from diseases, from scarcity and poverty, as well as all other gifts you need or will need in the future.

After the cup, we have to call on the Name of the Lord, and afterwards, fulfill the vows we made. In other words, these are the orientations for you to take part of the things you were destined to by the Most High. This way, you will glorify God, who thought, prepared and gave everything concerning your life. The Lord is good, including when orienting us to do something in our favor, as if we were paying Him.

In Christ, with love,

Oh God! We must be grateful to You and give You what You ask. Otherwise, we will miss out on a lot of things that were prepared for us and given to us. Therefore, we come before Your presence to cry out for Your immense favor.

You will not get any richer if we give You what You ask for, but we will. When we understand Your orientation, we come with fear and trembling to ask for Your help in order to drink from the cup of Your salvation.

Jesus drank from it, which is why we must do this too. To call upon Your Name benefits us greatly. Besides, by paying our vows, we will see Your blessed hand covering us and acting on our behalf. May this be so for Your glory!
