For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose against me. 2 Samuel 22:40

David had to leave his father’s sheep and set off to visit his brothers in battle so that someone could take away the shame upon Israel. There is a lot of work in God’s kingdom waiting for you in order to be done. It is evident that you must experience the lessons from the Holy Spirit, but one thing is certain: God has not called you to only heat up the church’s bench.

Never consider yourself inadequate to accomplish what God called you to do. He never calls someone for a mission without giving him the power to accomplish it. The capacity to accomplish what you were called to do will be conceded to you as soon as you decide to obey what was ordered. The Lord always supplies seed to the sower (2 Co. 9:10).

The Most High only uses those who believe in His words. Those who live in doubt do not receive any mission from the Lord. In God’s work, there should never be a single defeat, for the Almighty leads those who obey Him and makes them victorious. Everything that He needs is that His servants, in all circumstances, are truly his servants. Therefore, never allow any feeling of fear in your heart.

David knew that God has girded him with strength for battle. For this reason, he was not intimidated with the threats of giant Goliath. Seek to have this same mindset, for without faith – the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hb. 11:1) –, you will not be ready. As you prepare yourself, you must pray a lot, meditating on the Word, and with willingness to obey.

Everyone who is baptized in the Holy Spirit must begin to destroy the wolves, foxes, lions, bears and all the wild animals that come to take away your sheep. These things come as means from the Lord to prepare us for greater battles. Whoever does not learn the lessons will not be able to overcome in the Day of a great battle. Be assured that only the victorious will be admitted in the Kingdom of God.

Anyone that might rise against the anointed of the Lord will be destroyed under your feet. You have been anointed to carry out the divine work, and not for your personal promotion. Therefore, do not let yourself be misled by the enemies’ lies, for his threats are only small talk to deceive you. Triumph will never come by force or violence, but by the Spirit of God.

Of all that we have seen, what is most important is to listen to what the Lord speaks. He speaks where, when, and how we should be used. From the first moment that you listened to the Gospel, God began to prepare you to be victorious.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
