For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined.  Psalm 66.10

There are many things that the Lord has done for us when He received us as His children. The process initiates when we make contact with His Word. Then, a desire to know Him is aroused in us, for we did not give Him any attention before. When we prove His love, our hearts feel accomplished, and we understand that that was what we were looking before for and did not know what it was. We start to see how far we were from the Creator and then we seek Him.

After this, the phase of repentance begins, by changing attitudes and confessing sins. Soon, we start to feel that we will be accountable to Him one day for all that we do and we seek to make our ways right. It is as if he whipped us, and then, we feel like sinners, aware that we need His forgiveness. God gives the gift of forgiveness and we start to confess to Him what we have done wrong and seek His help to amend our ways.

When we feel His forgiveness, we feel loved. A feeling of purification and holiness becomes part of our lives and we cannot understand how we gave ourselves to sinful habits before. The slightest fall in our thoughts already makes us feel guilty. The change is great, and we start to pray, seek His presence, and ask for more. Our lives become purposeful, and we do not understand how others do not feel the same way.

Afterwards, there is the climax, for we are baptized in the Holy Spirit. What an experience! We simply immerge in the divine atmosphere, we speak in tongues and we are used in other gifts. Intimacy with the Lord is good for us, and our desire is to pray and experiment His move in us. Thus, we feel complete children of God, and members of His Body. These are wonderful days in which we open ourselves completely to Him.

However, as it happened to Jesus, who was led to the desert to be tempted, we also enter in a spiritual desert. From one moment to another, wrong desires come, different wishes, several kinds of opportunities are presented to us, and we start seeing flaws in our brethren. After all, there are trials that come that we never imagined that we would go through. Of course that these situations make us frustrated, but they happen because we are maturing in the faith.

With the right conscience of the importance of salvation, we are led to make a decision. What is sad is when a Christian, after going through all these phases and once he is proved, decides to give in to temptation and to sin. Those who maintain themselves firm in the faith leave the trial ready to be used by the Lord and prepared for every good work that He has destined them to do. By the power of the Spirit, they also leave the desert and start preaching the sweet message of the Gospel.

After we are approved, He sends us to a mission. This does not mean that we will all be full-time ministers. Many will continue in their secular profession, and at the same time, will be true blessings in the Church and in society. Then, we will be ready to be good tools in the hands of the Father. But once in a while, the trials return, but since we are firm in the faith, the devil will lose every time that he tempts us.

In Christ, with love,

Wise Lord! The walk of Faith is beautiful, but it is not exempt from temptations. The truth is that in the world we will have afflictions, but You have promised never to leave us. Therefore, we must not fear or flee from trials. Like Jesus, we will be approved in all of them.

Like in the natural life, in which the adult age brings satisfaction but also a series of commitments that we cannot give up, the faith in Jesus is the perfection of all things. It helps us to be complete in You and not to flee from the responsibilities that the faith in You demands.

The best is still to come. When Jesus returns, or our life here ends, we will enter His Glory and will never leave there. In salvation, we leave death and enter life. Therefore, we will not fear what can happen to us. We are sealed to the Day of redemption. Hallelujah!
