O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure. Psalm 6.1

David understood that a covenant is the expression of the will of two or more people, and the one God did with man was not any different. According to the goodness of the Lord, he allows us to put the points we want Him to fulfill beyond what He has already promised us. But, because we are limited, we must ask Him for help. Thus, we will have a different treatment, respecting the limits which He agrees to answer us.

The psalmist did not want to be rebuked in God´s anger, for he knew he wouldn’t have the conditions to accomplish what was asked of him without divine help. Even so, he could err in a given point; therefore, he did not want to be in the hands of the enemy. If he had to be rebuked, he did not want it to be through the anger of the One who is perfect in all things. So, the psalmist cried out to be treated differently.

The king of Israel knew that the Most High was powerful in all things and, if He used His rage, or if He gave the devil permission to touch him – like it happened to Job -, then his suffering would be enormous. Thus, once he felt he could ask the Lord for anything, even if it concerned some punishment he was to suffer; he begged to be chastened outside the spiritual rage, and most certainly, he was answered.

When you receive a mission, say to the Most High you will fulfill it, but that you need His orientation to know when and how to accomplish it. Tell Him that you will need tools, because of yourself you don’t have the conditions to act in a way that pleases Him. Like a Father, He delights in answering His children. If, being bad we know how to give our children good things, how much more Him.

It is good to ask for guidance in live, for many people have said that God teaches through pain. Some people say that without even knowing where that came from and they have accepted some suffering, for, according to what they say, they are being taught by pain. Since God is good and perfect, He knows how to give us the best lessons in love, mercy and tenderness. However, if someone loves curse, then they better be ready, for they will have what they love.

Now, to be taught by love is always best. Even in the natural things, when we think we can decide on our own, the enemy comes with his greed. Then, suddenly, we fall for his snares. Why not ask for His love to be the way He teaches you and have you turn out to be worthy of the punishment that does not have His anger?

The person who is a servant must depend in all things and for all things of his master, and ours is the Master of all masters, who is much more than capable. Therefore, the fact we are taught and guided by Him guarantees us complete success. To make use of what God shows us will benefit us greatly. Now, if we are His collaborators, then why not have His mutual protection? To Him be all glory! Amen!

In Christ, with love,

God, Master and Lord!  Thank Your for teaching us that You accept us to put some clauses in the Covenant You have made with man. That is why we are here, to make of David´s request, our request. If there is something else we can ask You, then teach us.

If we have to be rebuked, it would be good if that happened in love, for, even if there was wickedness in our actions, we don’t want to be punished in Your anger. You are perfect in all that You do, and we are weak for such punishment.

By Your goodness, You have created ways for us to escape the just punishment. Therefore, we confess to You that we have erred through our actions, words and thoughts and, now, in the Name of Jesus, we ask for forgiveness, justification and Your presence in us.
