Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

Matthew 15:21-22

Those who are guided by the Spirit of God always have the divine hand behind their decisions, although some might be considered too simple. So always ask the Lord to guide you in all things. God’s children are led by the Most High to go where there is some work to be done, which means you should heed the Holy Spirit, otherwise you will miss out on many blessings.

A Canaanite woman of Syro-Phoenician extraction, whose daughter was severely demon-possessed, was guided by the Holy Spirit to seek Jesus. The process of blessing always involves several people; in this case, someone said to the woman that the Master was in town so she felt in her heart that He could help her so she sought the divine help; after all, everyone who asks receives (Matthew 7:8).

It looked like she was wasting time in seeking the Nazarene because He did not utter a word in response to her request (Mathew 15:23). As a matter of fact, God’s silence to a request can be considered a response. In the case of the Canaanite woman, she had to have more faith and overcome some prejudices for the miracle to be performed. Jesus knew how to handle the situation and in the end that mother obtained the much needed deliverance of her daughter.

Do not be upset with the divine silence, but try to understand the reason for it. When some hindrances are removed and you make the right decision the miracle will not tarry. The secret is not to give up and keep praying, crying out for the Lord’s mercy. Out of every situation there will be at least one lesson from God. The Father knows how to prepare you to reach the victory, so stand firm in what He says.

From the moment you heeded those who spoke of Jesus, He began to work in your life. The lessons of the Lord are very important. So do not be angry with someone who is used to offend you for it is the Spirit of God that may be using such a person so you do not miss what He wants to give you. In the end, you will see that all things work together for your good (Romans 8:28).

When her preparation was complete, Jesus exclaimed by saying that the woman’s faith was great; as a result, the demon left her daughter (Matthew 15:28). Your faith is greater than your problem, but you need to put it into action. So do not let anything separate you from God’s love. Upon reaching the required point, your faith will take the enemy out of your life and of your household.

In Christ with love,
