The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. Psalm 18.20

David had an understanding that led him to work differently than the others. He spoke of rewards and not only of God’s simple operations. For him there was no magic or mysterious things. The king believed that if he did what was required of every man – believe what God says – he would reach the promised results. We see the same principle at work in Jesus, because Christ knew that God always answers those who hear Him.

The Almighty gives gifts to all those who dedicate themselves to hearing what He says in His Word, and the greatest of them all is faith. Jesus did the same after he led captivity captive (Ephesians 4.8). I believe that these gifts are like those He received to fulfill the divine plan. Therefore, I’m sure those who are willing to do what is pleasing to the Lord will see their efforts rewarded with mighty works from Heaven. God never fails or falls short.

Faith leads you to act as if you were someone special, with special powers, as if you belonged to a superior class. But there is no such thing; what happened was that you became an agent of righteousness. The verse we are studying in this message reveals that this was exactly how the king of Israel referred to his mighty deeds. For David, he was executing the justice God expected of him, and this is what the Father expects us to do.

The same attitude is expected of those who understand God’s plan for their lives, because this understanding leads the person to act different than other people and because of that they are rewarded. However, this is not an option, it is not something that you do when you feel like or when you desire to be recompensed. Those who refuse to see the revelation as commandments will be called unprofitable servants, being cast into the outer darkness (Mathew 25.30). Notice that those who do not gather with Jesus scatter abroad (Mathew 12.30).

Those who are illuminated by the will of God must not accept man-made doctrines or work hard to keep them, because behind those practices is, in fact, the hand of the enemy. Without God’s anointing, men can only produce garbage. However, it is important to mention that God has not appointed anyone to be the source of doctrine to His Church, but he has evoked it to Himself the right to teach all. Besides that, Jesus was clear when He said that He did not accept testimony from man, nor does He receive honor from men (John 5.34,41).

Those who keep their hands pure will be rewarded in all they do. When you do not accept man-made concepts to guide or direct the divine work, or even dictate the destiny of human kind, the Lord will reward the love you display for the Truth. Therefore, accept only what the Most High gives you through His Word (Isaiah 8.20). Those who walk in the light of the Lord never stumble (Isaiah 2.5).

We live a time where we must be purified in God’s revelation, because the enemy has been trying to give his “interpretation” to what is written, as he tried to do when he tempted Jesus in the desert (Matthew 4.1-11). When you are tempted, stand firm in what the Lord teaches you with what is written. God’s words will not pass away, even though heaven and earth pass away (Matthew 24.35).

In Christ, with love,

Dr. Soares

Our God who reward and recompense! O, how much time and blessings have we wasted because we do not fulfill the mission you have given us: to do justly. You surely do not give us understanding, faith and grace for us to keep our arms folded.

From now on we have decided to always do Your will, because we cannot waste the opportunity of being rewarded and delivered from the evil that afflicts us. May You be forever glorified in us!

Our sole desire is to have pure hands, because we want to see the fruit of our work; then we will see your recompense whenever we use Your power. At the end of our journey, we will know how good it was not to have worked in vain.
