Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken. Isaiah 58.14

The verses before the promises above talk about what God will do in the lives of those who understand, keep, and fulfill His commandments. Since the days that Jesus came to Earth, the Most High started to reveal what He wants from man. As for the Sabbath, for example, there are two groups that understand this commandment in a different way. One believes in the physical protection of the seventh day, and the other in the real meaning explained by the Lord.

What is most important is to follow the set of orientations that are written, for those who are obedient will delight in the Lord. The time to serve God was completed with the coming of Jesus, when the work for salvation was made. Now, when we fulfill the Biblical conditions, He enters in action to operate in our favor. Let the Holy Spirit guide you through the Scriptures and you will not act in a way that is contrary to the divine plan.

Let us analyze, in a broad way, what Isaiah said in this chapter. According to the prophet, the fasting chosen by God represented a moment to have authority over the evil power and set the oppressed free (read verse 6). This is the main work that the Lord wants to fulfill today. He desires that the lost are set free from the filthy spirits that keep them captive to the sins that will lead them towards eternal perdition.

We do not have to fulfill man’s desires; we must go and preach the Good News for every creature. It is good to remember that Jesus was obedient in all things, even in death, and death in a cross. After Christ defeated Satan and took the authority that he had stolen from man, He resurrected and ordered His disciples to go throughout the world preaching the Gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15).

Whoever obeys the Lord cannot do what he thinks is right or what someone else said. It is right to share the bread with the hungry, receive the poor at home, to cover the naked that is exposed to the forces of darkness and attend the needy. Thus, your light will shine like the dawn, and your healing will come quickly. Your justice will go ahead of you, and the glory of the Most High will be your rearguard.

If you honor the Lord’s orders, and do not follow your own ways, your own will, and your own words, you will be guided by the Almighty to fulfill the mission given by Him. Then, you will have conditions to execute the same Works done by the Master, to set free the oppressed and undo the Works of filthy spirits. Those who are obedient serve better!

Whoever honors the heavenly Father fulfills the commandments. Then, the reward comes, and he delights in the Lord. The promise for he who obeys is that he will ride on the high hills of the earth and will be fed with the heritage of Jacob. Isn’t it good to believe and fulfill the divine precepts?

In Christ, with love,

God of promises! Your directions are very easy to be attended. In fact, when You give us a direction, You have already given the power to fulfill them. After we have done what you tell us, You will reward us.

May our fasting set free the oppressed, the sick, and those who suffer! Therefore, we will have fulfilled the purpose of this sacrifice, which results in blessings for us as well. We are grateful for Your commandments.

We do not want to afflict our soul, if we are not going to use Your power to free those who are in the claws of the enemy, for You have ordered us to set free the bondage of wickedness. From now on, our preparation must be used without any loss.
