Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.

John 9:31

In the verses that precede the one quoted above we find the story of a man who, having been born blind, was healed by Jesus. This proves that for the Lord miraculous healings can be of pain, a restoration and the creation of new organs. So do not let your disbelief prevent God from accomplishing great things, but seek to know the Lord through the Scriptures.

We can call Jesus – who is the Creator of all things – the Doer of wonders par excellence. For him, there is nothing hidden or hard to do. However, the lack of biblical knowledge prevents people from believing in our God’s potential. Thus, without knowing the Bible, they fall short of the necessary spiritual position to rebuke evil or make miracles happen.

According to the former blind man, when God hears us the miracle serves as a sign that we are not in sin because if we were, we would not be heard. The prophet Isaiah also declared that sin hides God’s face from us so that He will not hear (Isaiah 59:2). However, one of the major hindrances to the Almighty’s greatest works is the lies that the devil tells and some Christians believe they will not be heard because they are in error.

It is necessary, however, to let everyone know that we are not in sin when we are tempted. The wicked one uses temptation to divert you from your journey of success. Soon afterwards, even if you have not fallen – but rather rejected the temptation readily – he lies by saying God will not hear you because you had wrongful thoughts and therefore you are lost.

He who fears the Almighty has privileges that will never be taken away. Being tempted means you are of God because if you weren’t, the enemy would not work against your life. It is necessary to believe in what the Father declares and claim what is yours in Jesus with faith and resolve.

In Christ with love,
