Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it. Genesis 28:16

One thing is for sure: we would like to share in Jacob’s sleep and in his dream: after all, we are a part of the body of his seed.  Truth is that God is always where he takes us, even though we do not perceive through our natural senses.  Sometimes when someone swears that they will end our lives we soon pray full of fear.  Now, if the Lord is keeping watch over us and directing our steps, why try to understand what is happening during our journey. Go all the way!

When we know that God is near us, we can rest assured. Subsequently, in the middle of the night, we have a marvelous dream, where we learn the divine order’s master plan and about our role in it.  We want to wake up and shout about something we know nothing yet and to follow our received orders, being sure and certain that nothing, absolutely nothing can remove us or tear us away from the eternal hands of the Author and the Finisher of our faith.

Jacob was frightened and declared that that place was terrifying. This is what we should constantly do every moment, everywhere for the Word of the Lord, which we believe is the dwelling of the Omnipotent. The gates of Heaven are open to us so that we can enter into the presence of our Holy God at will, to expose and express our needs and to receive the power to overcome in the Name of Jesus our Lord and Savior.

There will always be a new dawn to wake up to and to do what God has determined. The promise we choose and place as our headstone should be a pillar for us never to leave the presence of God.  We should pour out over these markers that will map out our lives the anointment that was conceded over us; then we will know we are in for the total until the end. Our waking up and rising should be before dawn, real early, before the heat of the trials burn us.

Do not be careless or negligent in your mission assigned by the Most High by holding back your hand. There are millions of people living in darkness oppressed by demons in the most immoral practices which maintain them stuck to the mud of infernal pig sties.  We have to help them find the means to live the fullness of life, so they can prepare for eternity and accumulate dividends to live for centuries of centuries. This is your time to make a move, to act and God will provide the necessary dreams.  

Lay hold of your promise and build on it as the mainstay of your life anointing it with the oil that you were provided.  Your task is a long term project and you will overcome the obstacles that will be trying to draw you from the presence of God.  This way, just like Paul, you will also exclaim that you have fought the good fight and have finished your race; you have kept the faith never losing it for even a moment (2 Timothy 4:7).  Do not sell yourself out to the devil because you were bought by the blood of Christ.

Jacob chose to lie down in a place called Luz. There he slept in the presence of the Lord, saw His glory on the stairway whose top steps touched Heaven and where the Lord appeared at the highest point.  He changed the name of that place to Bethel, the house of God.  Seek to be faithful to the Father and you will surely change many names in your life.  He does have something truly great to do for and through you.  Go all the way to the end!
