For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not. Isaiah 30:15

Through Isaiah the prophet, the Lord indicated that the people of Israel refused to go through the procedures for receiving salvation which prevented them from enjoying His goodness. Abraham, His friend, was used by Him to carry out this work but those people didn’t understand that they would be a different people on the face of the Earth.  Therefore the divine dream went sour and those people suffered what was not in God’s plans.  Today the choice is personal or individual but many do not seize the opportunity.

The Almighty permits Himself to be called the Holy One of Israel because He was always ready to intervene for the progeny of Jacob.  He is the Lord of the Church, which shows the magnitude of the task which He wants to execute in favor of all those who receive Jesus and their Lord and Savior.  But just like in those days, many do not perceive today that they can have more from the Most High but instead lead a life full of problems.  Being He the Lord of their life, they will have the promised abundance.

We must do two things to experience salvation.  The first is to convert – a change in direction – when we cease to serve the demands of the flesh and practice divine purpose and will.  The second is to rest or to repose – when the one who is saved assumes his rest in the Almighty.  We do not have to defeat the devil, but we do have to trust that Christ has won our battles.  Now, we must only believe in Him to live free from the charges of the evil ones.

In conversion and rest, these two attitudes lie our salvation. Whenever a temptation threatens, you don’t have to fight against it, but just declare that it can’t come into you; thus you need not expel it.  The Christian is a reserved fountainhead and a sealed protected spring in whom the devil cannot enter.  However if you do load up on fear when in pain or when you receive a wrong desire, you disconnect from God and annul your salvation.  Those who always trust can never distrust!

It is in calm repose that we cease to pay attention to the devils’ threats, turning to the Bible and truly pleasing God.  This is called walking in faith.  Since it is true that the Lord never lies and all His declarations regarding your rights and privileges are true you must assume your position of trust in Him and no matter how hard the devil attacks, no evil will ever overcome you.  The Christian is beyond the reach of the enemy.  Amen!

Deciding to remain in rest and trust those who say they believe in Jesus, you are delivered from the charges of the enemy and then you discover that you are much stronger than you ever imagined. During the days of Abraham, it was extremely dangerous to travel and to move around in this world, but this is what he did by following divine guidance.  Why is it that no evil person caused any harm or suffering to the patriarch? Because he was in alliance with the Lord and never feared what any man might do to him.

Incredible!  God promised the Hebrews the solutions to the problems that they would be faced with but they did not pay Him any attention.  Jesus declared that the work was already done but even so we don’t believe that things are as He said and we suffer terribly as a consequence.  Believe and you shall live!

In Christ, with love,

Lord!  You never asked anything too great or impossible of any human, but only that they convert and walk with You.  The Israelites sought the way of man, the hard way; thus they suffered and did not enjoy the virtues and gifts of the Promised Land.

Besides converting they should repose – paying no heed to the devil or his threats – but the Israeli did not and lost Your favor. We want to believe and to enter into Your rest because You teach us to live victoriously in and through faith.

We want to enter into Your rest, where trust in Your Word will guide our decisions.  You teach us to live confidently without battling against the devil all the time, since he has already been defeated.  Thank you for Jesus’s victory over Satan, the enemy of our soul.
