02/02/2014 - STRONG ON YOUR BEHALF

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

Human beings discovered a very useful instrument called radar. With a radar, plane pilots can fly independently of climate conditions and try to avoid turbulences. However, God is a million times more capable than all modern equipment, for He sees and knows everything about us. Therefore, if we are in communion with Him, we don’t need to fear tomorrow.

The Lord watches us to help us and not to condemn us. He doesn’t want to lose any of us (Jo. 6:39); on the contrary, He wants all of us to understand that He will always give us the help we need to stop the enemy’s attempts to destroy us. Faithful Christians can always count on the favor from Heaven, for the Father never stops doing what’s good.

The Lord most high is looking for those who have a perfect heart and are searching for others who will fulfill His commandments. From the moment when the heavenly Father finds you in this way, you will have His help at your disposal. He will show Himself strong on your behalf; you should just act by faith, and you will receive whatever you need to fight your battles.

On the verse above, king Asa’s mistake was that he didn’t preserve a perfect heart. He should have meditated upon the fact that a couple of years earlier – when the Ethiopian and the Libyan people were against him – the Lord listened to his cry and gave him victory. This way, instead of allowing fear to take over his heart, he should have sought the direction from heaven, which would have made him realize that what was happening was for his own good.

However, Asa was precipitated and he didn’t understand that by defeating Baasa, king of Israel, the Syrians who were Baasa’s allies would come to his rescue   and would be defeated. This way Asa would have sent the Syrians to where they belonged. No weapon forged against us, Christians, shall prosper (Is. 54:17); it will only hit us if we don’t seek the Lord. Therefore it is extremely important that we see things from God’s perspective.

If the Lord allowed something to attack you, causing you to become impatient, He did it for your own good. However, by consulting the Lord, you will learn the best way to be free from any traps and you’ll be free from people who want to attack you forever. Therefore, do not be afraid at any threats, because all things work together for the good of those who are called according to His purposes (Rm. 8:28).

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
