For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots and are strong.

Joshua 17:18b

The servant of God must not look at the enemy’s abilities or be impressed by his threats; rather, he/she should believe what the Word speaks to their heart. The devil cannot defeat those who are grounded in the truth. Moreover, faith gives us the power to do much more than what we feel or think. Given this fact, do not be fooled by what the adversary says for he is a liar (John 8:44).

The evil we must fight is within us and around us. Jesus said that from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.  All these evil things come from within and defile a man (Mark 7:21-23). Watch out: the devil walks around us seeking who he can devour (Peter 5:8).

The secret is to go into battle, – whatever it might be – knowing that you will come out victorious. We must never make the mistake of doubting that we can beat the devil because our victory is certain in the Name of Jesus (I Corinthians 15:57). God, who is almighty, would never let us get into a fight if there was a chance of us being defeated by the enemy. It is written in His Word that He has equipped us with power over the forces of evil (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Now, the wrong things you still harbor in your hearts such as evil desires, old vices, sinful practices, lusts and other weaknesses are like the iron chariots of the Canaanites. The Lord knows that in His name you can beat all of them, even if they seem stronger than you. The divine will is that you dominate and destroy all that is wrong.

So if there is one weakness that dominates you, it means you have not been delivered by the Most High, for he who is trapped by a single shackle is actually captive. See what goes on inside of you when temptation surrounds you and with resolve demand it to leave your life forever. You have to do something about the “Canaanites” or they will defeat you. Keep in mind that the Lord has already given you the capacity to overcome the enemy.

Stand up now and destroy everything that is holding you down. Rid yourself right now of every diabolical action that has come to get you out of the divine presence. Rebuke the enemy in the name of Jesus, with faith and determination. Your victory will be complete if you do what the Lord has commanded. He told us not to give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27). So, remember that there is nothing that can resist the Lord of hosts.

With the promise of Jesus according to which whatever you ask (ordain) the Lord will do for you, go up to Him in prayer now and get rid of all the evil that surrounds you.
