And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore they cry out, saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God. Exodus 5:8

In the system of slavery, the slave master gives the orders.  The slaves are involuntary participants and subdued to obeying the evil being.  It is not possible to understand the purpose of who enslaves others because the result is repulsive.  To enslave or oppress another person is the epitome of evil. It is far better and real good to help and support others to be free in order to fill our soul with pleasure and with joy. The success of others should fill us with joy and happiness unless we are oppressed under the devil.

The fact that the Pharaoh persecuted and oppressed the Israelite even more, when God had already declared that he would lead them out and away from Egypt is proof that the devil owned the king’s heart.  Honestly anyone who is mean or bad to anyone is not in service or obedient to the Lord. The king of Egypt is a symbol of Satan who took humanity into slavery when he deceived and fooled Adam and Eve. Jesus however, through His suffering, sacrifice, death and resurrection defeated Satan and delivered us from this terrible bondage.

There is nothing more worthy and noble than to preach the Gospel to all people throughout the entire world.  People are drawn to filthy habits and evil practices because they don’t know or believe in Jesus Christ.  Only by knowing and understanding Truth and respect for God can one be delivered. Those who serve God’s purposes must take care not to be used by the enemy.  He will tempt us in every way because we threaten the devil’s plans.  Help us, Lord!

To make it more difficult for the Hebrew slaves to seek the Almighty the Pharaoh gave orders for them to be forced to work on the same construction projects but with no straw to shore up the bricks, which was absolutely necessary.  They would have to provide their own straw themselves. These days, the devil has increased the temptations by teaching people that biblical principles make no sense or do not apply anymore.  This way many people abandon their sanctification and steep themselves to wallow in sin. Mercy!

We must keep watch and vigil and pray not to enter or fall into temptation of transgressions and sins. At the first hint or sign of the enemy’s efforts – and what opposes bible teachings are his moves – pay close attention, resist the suggestion and cry out until you overcome the diabolical offer.  Nobody is exempt.  Don’t be drawn by satanic deceptions and do not fall into sin.  The Lord is Holy and we must strive to be like Him. Otherwise we will not see Him intercede in our behalf.  Be careful!

The king of Egypt trusted in lies, and inverted the realities, declaring that what the Lord said was not true.  However, in the end he realized what happens to those who resist and oppose the All Powerful.  Be truthful and flee from temptations.  Just as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife, anyone who desires to succeed must take care not to tall into the devil’s traps. Bravely resist the tempter and God will help you!

Reject the appeals and invitations from Hell, knowing that in all things you are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus who loves you and delivers you from the empire of darkness. We are free! The only price for serving God is to flee from the enemy, the devil and his schemes.  Halleluiah!
