18/11/2015 - The end of Babylon

All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; He shall do His pleasure on Babylon, and His arm shall be against the Chaldeans.  Isaiah 48.14

The Babylonian empire was not aware that its reign was coming to an end. They thought so because they had overpowered all the kingdoms of their time and they considered themselves strong enough to crush any nation that attempted to raise up against them. This to show that the unbeliever has a false confidence that nothing will overcome them, but such fate is not under their control, it is in God’s hands to decide.

The fall of Babylon took place because their evil filled the full measure of the cup of God’s patience. The nation that seemed to be unbeatable crumbled. Beware of pride, because when it comes to a person’s or a nation’s heart, it serves as a sign that their judgment is imminent. This is true also for the saved. However, those who give glory to the Lord for what they conquer will be preserved.

God loved Cyrus and called him to bring vengeance against the Chaldeans. Now, when the Almighty decides to do something, it will come to pass, even though men will try to do its best to keep it from happening. The unwise think they can keep God’s plans from coming to pass. The Most High is the One who decides the fate of kingdoms and rulers as do chess players with the pieces on the board.

Men have limited influence over their own destiny. Not even if all hell comes loose against what the Creator has established will prevail over God’s decision. King Herod thought he was a mighty man when he heard the shouts of the people saying that his voice was of a god and not of a man. Because he did not acknowledge God’s sovereignty he was struck by an angel, and was eaten by worms and died (Acts 12.21-23).

We can rest assured that the gates of Hell cannot keep us from preaching the Gospel to all peoples, in the power of the Holy Spirit. The nations that are now closed to the knowledge of the Truth will see miracles, wonders and signs being worked in their terms. This has happened to the former Soviet Union in the years of 1990. If the Lord is at work, who can reverse it? (Isaiah 43.13b).

Those who remain rebellious against God’s plan will see in the end that they made the wrong decision but, unfortunately, it will be too late. When Jesus returns those who have not repented, the false prophet, the antichrist, Satan and his demons will be cast into the eternal fire. The redeemed, however, will enter through the gates of glory to enjoy the goodness of the heavenly Father for eternity.

There is absolutely nothing that will happen to us without God’s consent. If His permission we will have some or many martyrs, unless we have reached the number of those who will die for the love of the Gospel. Only what God has appointed to happen will come to pass and, to us the only concern is to allow ourselves to be used by Him.

In Christ, with love,

Dr. Soares

Supreme Commander of the Universe! All have been summoned to gather and hear Your decisions. The mighty Babylonian empire, who thought to be invincible and lord over all the Earth, saw their strength dissolved as mist under the heat of the Sun.

No one could have foreseen it, but You had announced it. You are glorious in all Your deeds and none can go against what You decide. When the cup of your patience was filled to overflow, those mighty people were defeated.

Cyrus met the requirements and You loved him. May this be a message to all people, because when a man keeps Your commands, he is loved the same way. Act, Lord, because there is much Babylon to be exposed and defeated today.
